Chapter 38

Angela and I went through all the clothes and we found other ones that we had not ordered but still liked very much. As we began to pack my bag my phone rang and as I looked at the number I smiled as I said, "Thank you for the additional clothes." Brandon replied, "I saw them and thought you two would look amazing in them so I made sure you two received them." I smile and put him on speaker then say, "You saved me big time today." He chuckled then Angela said, "I really like the ones you choose for me." He laughed then said, "Well, you and Alice are practically identical but the personalities are different. I actually thought that you would suit the ones I choose for you better." She smiled as she picked up one dress in particular and said, "I think you and I are going to be good friends." I laughed then said, "I hope that Lux never hears you say that." She giggled but Brandon was very silent so I said, "You see Brandon, turns out that Lux is Angela's mate." We heard the gulp before he said, "I will be your tailor but nothing more. That dragon scares me more than an angry Alice." I laughed then said, "Should I send you the payment to the same account?" He said, "That's fine." I said before hanging up, "Thanks for all the cute clothes." He chuckled as I hung up. 

We got my bag ready with enough clothes for a few days in case anything happened. It was now noon and I was starting to get hungry. We made our way to my mother's room when a maid said, "The Queen is in the living room with Darren." We nod then begin to make our way to the living room.  As we walk in I see Darren reading a book and my mother was observing him. I look at Angela who had not noticed as she walks up to our mother and says, "How are you doing today, mom?" My mom looked at her then said as she got up and hugged her, "I'm doing fine sweetie." I walk up to them and hug them as I say, "I can't wait to see my mate." They began to laugh and Darren looked at me surprised before saying, "You have a mate?" I nodded then said, "Yes, I don." He smiled then said, "I wish I could find mine but I'm not sure if she will want me." I smiled then said, "I think she will like you." He blushed as he smiled then I added, "Once I have time, I will help you find your mate." He smiled brightly then said, "I can't wait." I giggled then said to all of them, "We should go get lunch before I have to leave." My mother smiled as she said, "Yes, if not she will run away before she has a chance to eat food." I laughed and everyone was trying to hold back their laugh so I added, "I'm just going to runaway and never eat again." Angela laughed as she said, "You're so weird." I looked at her then said seriously, "Girl, you have no idea." They all began to laugh and it filled my heart with joy. 

We all went to the dining room and Hanna said as she walked up to us, "Lunch is served." The maids came out and placed platters of food around the table. We filled our plates and began to eat and talk. Once we had finished we stayed there talking about random stuff until Jake walked in. He bowed and said, "Your Highness'." My mother said as she smiled, "I hear you will be escorting my daughter to see her mate?" He nodded confidently as he said, "Yes, my Queen. I will protect her with my life." My mother said as she looked at me, "I think you should let him do his job rather than trying to fight every battle that comes your way." I was about to say something when Jake says, "I have trained a lot so I wish she could see my improvement in battle." I looked at him feeling a bit embarrassed of what he said so I said, "Fine, I will let you do your job." He smiled and everyone laughed as I turned and began to walk back to my room. 

I grabbed a pair of silver bracelets and put them on. I smiled as I put them on remembering that my father had them made specially for me when I was young. I was just beginning to manifest my powers and I was very strong. We vampires are not immune to silver but we can still wear it without hurting ourselves. Silver is dangerous and even deadly to most supernatural things, as for vampires, it just makes us weak. My Pureblood was making my powers manifest quickly and it was dangerous for me to be near anyone. I remember the day my father decided to get me the bracelets. I was about 6 years old when my father's friend came to visit with his family. They seemed like nice people but their daughter was something else. She was conceited and demanding of everything she wanted. I was not like her and I did not like her at all. Her father made the comment of her being more like me, a good and elegant daughter. She did not take the comparison very nicely. She proceeded to pushing me of my swing and then laughing at me. I took a deep breath and fought my urge to hurt her. I went to my parent who were shocked to see me hurt but they didn't press the matter too much. Her parents were a bit worried but since I had not said it was their daughter who did it they just went along with what I said. When we were having dinner she pushed the last button. We were eating soup when she accidentally dropped it on my lap. I ignored the hot soup and got up. She had a smirk on her face but that vanished the moment she saw my red eyes and white hair. Everyone in the room was shocked, I proceeded to sending her flying form the punch I gave her. Her parents were shocked, angry but mainly scared. I looked at them and said, "You need to control that wild animal before she gets herself killed." My parents were angry but they knew I had been pushed to my limits by that girl. The next day my father gave me two silver bracelets that were too big for me but I still wore them in my arms. They helped me keep my powers at a minimum but I was still very strong even with this weakness. I smiled as I looked at them again before returning downstairs.
