Chapter 39

As I walked into the living room my mother said, "What did you forget?" I smiled as I said, "I went to get a lucky charm." She looked at me curiously then I showed her my wrists, she smiled as she placed her hands over the bracelets. I knew she remembered form the nostalgic smile she had. I gave her a hug then said, "I miss him too." We hugged a bit longer then I said to Angela, "Keep mom safe, sis. She is a bit lonely since the anniversary of our father's death is getting close." I felt my mother stiffen but she relaxed a bit. Angela walked up to us and hugged us as she said, "I will keep her busy and hopefully help her get through this." We hugged then I said, "I think we need to get going. Please keep yourselves safe while I'm gone." Angela said, "I will keep us safe." Lux walked up to me and said, "I will protect them with my life." I smiled and hugged him then said to Jake, "let's go." He nodded and we walked outside.

He had the Wrangler ready and as soon as he put my bags in he said, "We are ready when ever you are, Princess." I hugged everyone one last time then said to my mother, "Please don't torture yourself." She nodded then I walked to the car and we began our journey. We mainly listened to music but we did have a conversation about Jake wanting to find his mate. He believed that his mate could be a different species because he could not find his mate within the vampire community. I made him the same offer I did to Darren about helping find his mate to which he agreed happily. We arrived  to Levux in about 3 hours and had 3 hours to waste while we waited. We decided to go get something to eat at Club Devine. It was closed at this time but they would never refuse the owner. 

We parked in the almost empty parking lot then made our way to the entrance. Jake knocked and a guards said, "We're closed, buddy." He smirked then said, "You should go get someone that knows the owner." The guard replied, "We all know the owner and you are not it." I sighed then said as I moved form behind him, "Then you should know I never travel alone." He looked at me and I could see the blood in his face drain. He quickly began to open the door and I saw David run to him and say, "What's going on?" As the door open he looked at me then said, "Princess!" He walked up to me and shook my hand as he said, "What a pleasant surprise." I smiled then said, "I see you have new employees." He rubbed the back of his head then said, "I Hope he didn't make a bad impression." I smiled then said, "Not really." He smiled then said, "What bring you here, Alice?" I smile then said, "I came to see my mate." He looked at me surprised then said, "We are honored that you would invite him here." I laughed then said, "No, he will not come here. I will be waiting here for a bit before I meet him." He nodded and looked dejected so I added, "He has no idea who I am." He smiled then  said, "That's all you ever wanted." I smiled then said, "I like being normal, even if it's temporary." He said as he waved to some guys, "We'll since you are here, let's introduce everyone to you." I nodded and within a few minutes I had a small crowd. 

I looked around and saw that there were vampires, witches, shape-shifters and fairies. David said as he clapped, "We'll everyone, I want you to meet our employer, Princess Alice." He pointed at me and I waked. A vampire said, "We thank you for this opportunity." I said, "I appreciate that all of you are willing to work in a place like this." A witch said as she grabbed the hand of a shape-shifter, "If this place didn't exist then I would have never meet my mate." I felt happy and a fairy said, "We have managed to meet our mates due to you allowing a place like this to exist in our realm." I nodded then said as I looked at all of them, "My mate is unaware of who I am. I wish to bring him here once but when that time comes, I want you all to treat me like a patron and not like the boss. I want this business to be ran fairly. I hate people that feel entitled to do or say anything due to their position or specie." They all nodded and I said lastly, "My mate is a werewolf." I saw a few faces look at me shocked then one girl said, "A few weeks ago there were a few werewolves here but one kept looking around searching for someone. Could he be your mate?" I looked at her then said, "I hope so." She smiled then I said, "If he is, i will deal with him later." They all laughed then I said, "Thank you, please continue to help me here." They clapped and cheered then returned to work. 

David said after he cleared his throat, "What do you want to do while you wait?" I smiled then said, "I want to eat something. The trip actually made me hungry." Jake added, "I heard form Lux you barely ate while you were home." I smiled then said, "I wasn't hungry then." David looked at my bracelet then said, "Why are you wearing the bracelets? IS everything oaky?" I touched them and said, "I was told by my guard to let him do his job in protecting me so I decided to make myself a bit weak to allow him to do his job." He laughed then said, "Only you would think of that solution." I winked at him and Jake said, "So, how have you been Dave?" David smiled as he said, "I found my mate and I really wish I could have meet him sooner." I smiled and Jake said shocked, "Wait, your mate's a dude?" David nodded and I added, "Your mate will be perfect for you." Jake looked at me then said, "You're right." David smiled then said, "If your mate is a werewolf then that means that he's very possessive." I smiled then said, "I like it." They laughed and as we took a seat in the bar counter David said, "If your bracelets are pure silver then make sure he doesn't touch them." I nodded and said, "I know it will hurt them but what exactly happens to them?" A man brought out some side dishes and said, "We get burned." I looked at him and David said, "This is Bruce, my mate." I smiled then said, "Nice to meet you Bruce." I stretched my hand but he said, "I don't mean any disrespect but if I touch you, your mate will try to hunt me down." I looked at him surprised then  he said, "The scent of a werewolf lasts longer than any other species and we can smell it clearly." We all looked at him surprised but we had just learned something new.
