Chapter 6

Sebastian:

I walked around looking for my mate. My father was with my grandmother so I have some time to look for my beautiful mate. I turned a corner and I caught her scent, I look up and I see her walking slowly deep in thought. I walked up to her and got in front of her and she bumped into me. I saw her look at me surprised so I smiled as I said, “Alice.” She walked away from me but I grabbed her hand. She looked shocked and a bit scared. I got closer to her then said, “Don’t run away from me.” She took a deep breath and said as she turned to me, "You need to stay away from me.” I was a bit hurt but I smiled then said, “Can’t do that, sweetie.” She frowned then said, “You know what I am.” I nodded then said, “I know.” She pulled her hand trying to make me let go but I was not about to let her do this again. She said once again but with despair in my voice, “What do you want from me?” I felt her despair and I said with a smiled hoping she understands, “You are my mate.” She freezes then says, “That’s impossible.” I leaned in and kissed her to prove it. I felt our lips tingle with the sparks and I fell her relax and she is now kissing me back. I heard some people walking towards us and she quickly breaks the kiss and looks worried and she begins to drag me behind her as she runs. We make it to my grandmother's room and as she opens the door she says, “I’m sorry.” She pushes me inside then closes the door as she runs away again. I feel like my heart is breaking. I finally made her realize who she is to me but now she says this and I am left at a loss.

Alice:

As I sit here reminiscing, I realize that maybe it is time I returned to my duty. I took a deep breath and went back inside. I walked to the staff room and found Jane and Derrick talking with other people. I walked up to them and said, “I made lunch.” Jane jumped excitedly and said, “Finally, I get to eat your food again!” I smiled seeing her excited then said, “Wait till you eat James’.” She turned bright red and said, “What are you talking about?!” I smiled and said, “I was referring to his cooking.” She frowned and said, “OMG! I can’t deal with you.” I laughed then said, “You naughty girl.” Derrick patted her head then said, “Let’s eat before we starve.” I went to the fridge and took out the containers. We warmed them up and ate.

While we ate, Mandy entered and said to me, “I need to speak to you now.” I looked at her then said, “About what?” She frowned then said, “Your rude behavior earlier.” I smiled then said, “I don’t like people touching me without my permission.” She frowned then said, “I expect you to apologize to him for the rude manner in which you presented yourself.” I closed my container then said, “I will not.” She smiled then left. I smiled then said to the other two, “Sorry about that. I’m done for now so I’m going back to my rounds.” Jane nodded and I walked away.

I finished my rounds and decided to go see Mrs. Brown before I left. I knocked on her door and she said, “I wanted to talk to you Alice.” I entered and close the door. She smiled politely and said, “He told us everything.” I gave her a sad smile then said, “This won’t be possible.” She looked out her window then said, “He has been searching for you his entire life.” I look at her and say, “I’m not a normal vampire. I’m not permitted to marry just anyone, that’s why I ran away from home.” She smiled and said as she took my hand, “You are free to choose who you love.” I shook my head then said, “I’m not.” Her smile vanished then she said, “You are the Princess…” I nodded then said, “Yes.” She nodded then said, “I’m sorry.” I nodded and said, “I’m thinking of going back home. I can at least make that peace treaty happen.” She sighed then said, “You should do what you really want before going home.” I smiled and said, “I have been doing that for a while now. I’m starting to miss my mother.” She opened her arms and I hugged her tightly. I say my goodbye and head out. 

As soon as I go outside I see Erick leaning on my car. I walk up to him and he says, “Why did you have a weird scent?” I look at him then say as I grab my keys, “It doesn’t matter to you.” He frowned then said, “I will make this little human life you are pretending to live a living hell.” I begin to laugh as I open my door then say, “Good luck.” I get in my car and smile as I turn it on. He moves away and I drive off. Just seeing Erick has me in such a bad mood, I really hate him. He used to be a friend to me but then he got it in his head that I would be good girlfriend and a good opportunity to gain the thrown. I really despise him and the fact that he fooled me enough that we got engaged was the worst part. I found out about his intentions when he tried to hit on Hanna when he thought I was not around. He told her that as the future King he could make her happy and keep her comfortable as a mistress. She told him that she was loyal to her Princess and friend so he smacked her. I quickly came out from where I was and said, "I suggest you leave this instant before I kill you." He smiled then said to me, "Don't worry babe. I taught her her place." I looked at him then said, "I was talking to you." He glared at me but he saw the rage in my eyes so he left without a fight. I broke the engagement the next day. I love remembering how livid he was when I went to his house to end it and told his family what he had said to my friend and even hit her. Since then he has been trying to get close to me but I don't allow it.
