“I’ve missed you so much, Zoey.”
Selena hugged me tightly like her life depended on it.
I laughed. “You just saw me a few days ago, stop being so dramatic.” My voice came out muffled because she was still suffocating me with her hug.
A few moments later, she broke the hug and looked at me. “I know, but it felt like forever… and you know, I haven’t been over here in a while.”
I’d invited Selena over to the house because I needed a distraction. The tension between everybody was palpable, and I needed to go out to clear my head.
But I didn’t want to go out alone.
I was happy when I told Selena about it and she agreed without hesitation.
“I know,” I said, letting out a deep exhale. “I missed you too, and I’m glad that you came.”
She smiled at me.
