The Prank

A week later, Jonathon finally got ungrounded but he still had to work because of the property damage. He went into his work and had to mop the floors. He hated it and people from his school laughed at him for working at a gas station. A bunch of the bullies like Jacob Moore kept making messes on purpose just so that Jon could clean them up. “Hey loser you missed a spot,” Jacob said. Ronnie walked in and pushed Jacob into a wall. “Don’t talk to Johnny that way,” he said. Jacob pushed him back, then Ronnie pounded his face with his fist. He made his nose bleed and his lip also. Jeffery walked in and saw the bloody kid on the floor. He looked confused for a moment and then realized that Ronnie must have done that. He went up to Jonathon and asked him if he knew about the vampire legend. He had that he didn’t and he really didn’t care either. Jeffery pulled out a camera and showed him a photo of the casket with the vampire in it. “Jeff it’s empty,” Jon said. “Vampires don’t appear it photos so just take my word for it. Even better take your girlfriend Veronica’s,” Jeffery replied. Jonathon got mad because they weren’t dating and he lightly punched Jeff. “You 2 went to a graveyard and dug up a casket?!“ Jonathon asked furiously. “Her friend Jackie Nelson was there also,” Jeffery replied. Jon didn’t believe the whole paranormal stuff so he didn’t pay attention father on about it. He went back to sweeping and then took out the trash. He continued his job until he got off at 4:30. He stopped by Veronica’s to see what she was up to. She had just got done showering so she had a towel on her head. “I heard about you and Jeff’s little discovery,” Jonathon said. “It wasn’t like that. We went to go tell creepy stories and then Jackie told us about the legend and we wanted to check it out. I won’t be going back anytime soon because that was too scary for me to handle, the lifeless corpse of a vampire right in front of me,” she said. Jon was invited into the house and he met Veronica’s parents. They seemed like super nice people. Her parents were named Jamie and Scott. Both parents looked between 44-47. Jon was asked to stay for dinner which was spaghetti and meatballs. Jamie was a wonderful cook and Jon loved the spaghetti. He went home and then researched the urban legend. “This stuff can’t be true because monsters are fake,” he said to himself. He snuck out and went to the graveyard. The gate was locked so he jumped it. He walked closer get to the casket which looked to be almost filled covered in dirt again and saw nothing inside. “Sir you can’t be here,” the groundskeeper said. He escorted Jon back outside. The groundskeeper continued to re-bury the casket and Jon went back home. Luckily he didn’t get caught this time since he parents were already asleep since it was around midnight. He remembered the name on the casket said ‘Carrie Henry’. He researched the name and she had died in the 1500’s. He wondered why the casket was empty though, there should’ve been a skeleton or rotted body laying in there. Jonathon was so confused about the situation. Ronnie couldn’t figure out why it happened either. All the could come up with is that the body was moved to another casket because that one might have been unable to continue using. Ronnie went over to a friends house so they could scare the younger kids. His friends consisted of 2 guys named Fred and Kyle. They all 3 were seniors at the high school the other kids went to. Ronnie said the kids were interested in the vampire legend so they got Kyle to dress as the vampire to scare the kids. Monday came and Ronnie ran past the kids and acted scared. Jeff asked what had happened and he said that Fred got attacked by the vampire. Jeff ran in terror and told Veronica, Jackie, and Jonathon. Jackie said she prepared for that to happen so he brought weapons. She opened up her locker and had a bag of garlic and a wooden stake. “That explains the smell in the hallway,” Jeff said referring to the garlic. Everyone grabbed a stake, Jon did also because why not. They all ran towards the vampire and Jackie tried stabbing it. Kyle took off the mask and yelled at them. “You tried killing me. Ronnie said you guys were terrified of the urban legend,” Kyle said. Jackie, Veronica, and the boys went over to Ronnie. They were mad that he used their fear as a joke. “Listen, I’m the one who stuck up for you nerd boy. If I wasn’t there then that bully wouldn’t flattened you like a pancake,” Ronnie said to Jonathon. They all went to class since the bell rang. Jeffery had an evil grin on his face because he wanted revenge on the seniors for their stupid prank.
