Chapter Forty Three I felt like I was just going the motions, like I was just going where the wind took me, and I was left with no other option but to do precisely that right now. No other option but to go where the wind takes me and just continue to move along like I have no choice over my life. And that was actually not even far fetched. I was here out of my own will. I was a slave against my own will, against my own doing, because I had done nothing to make my mother do what she did. But then I was paying for what she had done. And apart from that, I had not chosen for Brock to do what he did and claim me from Kane. Maybe my wedding with Kane would have been less daunting. Maybe the more that I cared about what happened, the harder it was because I cared so much about hating Brock
