Chapter 1: my mess of a life
Jade/Gana
"Oh my gosh? The baby is still in her belly! We should hurry and save the baby before it's too late!” I heard a female voice say.
'Who is that? Am I dead? What in the goddess name is happening? Help, someone, help me!' I tried speaking, I gasped and coughed. As soon as I opened my eyes, all I saw was light, and everything was white. But most of all! Was a pain! s**t! Did dead people feel pain too?
I couldn't explain what kind of pain I was going through.
There was a strange pain in my belly, and my v****a was on fire as well! My head was so heavy I felt it could fall off.
I was sweaty and felt like I was struck by thunder.
I felt like every limb and bone of my body were being twisted, draining all my strength and energy. I turned around and saw unfamiliar faces. “Am I dead? Is this the afterlife?” I said and they turned pale when they saw me.
"She's alive! My God she is alive!" The owner of the voice I heard earlier roared.
‘Did I know her?’ All I needed were answers.
What are they talking about? Gosh! What is going on?
"Gana, please bear with us. You have to deliver your last baby. Just push a little, okay?” Another woman said.
The women were wearing hospital dresses, seemed different from the ones I knew but why am I at the hospital?
Subconsciously, I nodded at the women, and they changed their position. The woman who holds my hand and signals me to do it
"UHMP—AGGHHH!" I screamed like I was giving birth. Wait, was I?
The sensation that something was coming out of my v****a followed by relief, my entire body was aching. My vision was getting blurry.
I didn't know what was happening, but all I wanted was to be left to die in peace.
Just as though the universe heard me everything went dark and that was it.
….
"Uhn..." I moaned and slowly opened my eyes.
I look around, with my forehead wrinkled. This room was huge! I slowly got up.
My body was sore. I lean on the headboard, but my eyes dilate when I see the interior of the room.
There was a black curtain, but it's tied to its pillar. I looked down and saw that I was putting on a red dress.
"Oh s**t!" I screamed. But I suddenly groan in pain and scoff. I hated bright color dresses but my life was s**t and everything black had always helped me.
The door opened, and a group of ladies walked into the room with worry itched in their eyes. "Ma'am, please don't move, and take a rest. You're still in pain from giving birth to twins." one of them said.
I was more shocked by what she said!
Another walked closer, and she grabbed the glass.
"Ma'am, please drink some water in the meantime. You've been sleeping for a week now, I heard your parents are searching for you and the alpha went into a mate frenzy."
"Who? Who will cry over my death? I ask in bitter tones, and she blinked.
"Wait, where am I? Does the afterlife give children, and special treatment?" She looked at me confused.
I sent them out and continued thinking about what was happening to me when my eyes went to a book which was carefully placed on the side table. I took it up and opened it, for some reason I could understand the words written in it even though they were strange.
From what I read a girl, gana owned it, like a personal book maybe. Everything about her was written in it.
She's human and she had a one night stand with her boss, Maverick , which left her pregnant.
She found out he wasn't human and ever since she hadn't seen him.
She waited for him; he never came. He only called the day of her delivery and told her he loved her and was coming back.
“What a funny love story.” I dropped the book and just as I was about to take a nap the door flew open.
“Gana, what is wrong with you? Are you okay? Get the doctor!" A younger girl about my age rushed in. I gulped, trying to control my emotions.
Gana? Did she call me Gana? What the hell!
The door opened, and the doctor came in, for some reason he felt so familiar. His hair color was brown; he had thick brows, thin lashes, a wicked nose, small lips, and green eyes. His eyes were captivating! I wonder if he's single. As he walked closer the realization hit me hard.
Alpha Leo was the doctor in the afterlife?
“I'm sorry I wasn't there with you.” He placed his hand on my cheeks and looked at me with love. Was I dreaming?
“Wait, who are you both?” I asked.
“Gana, it's me Maddie. What's wrong?” The young lady asked.
“Maddie please wait outside.” Alpha Leo said and after eyeing him she walked out.
“I'm really sorry for what happened I just didn't know how to face you. I thought you'd be scared and reject me, that's why I left instead.” Gosh it was like I was living that girl's, gana’s life. Wait!
“First of all I don't know you, and secondly can I get a mirror?” He gave me a weird look and stood up.
He walked to the vanity table and brought me the mirror, “here.” I took it and I saw a different face that wasn't mine.
“Who am I?” I asked.
“Gana I get that you're angry at me but please don't do this, it's killing me.” He tried to touch me and I stood me, gosh the pain.
“You know what's killing me? It's the way you're acting that's killing me!” I exclaimed and he raised his brows.
“Who are you?” I questioned.
“Babe it's me Maverick , I'm your baby daddy did you forget?”
My eyes were drawn to the large crib, and I finally noticed two babies sleeping in it. The pain in my lower half is proof that I indeed gave birth.
“I gave birth?” I asked and he nodded trying to grasp what was happening.
What the heck!
All of a sudden I felt heavy and it went blank again.
