CHAPTER 25 Munroe and Wilson’s visit had clinched it – Liliad and I were leaving – now. I’d rung the hotel and managed to bring my booking forward a week and then drove to the garage to fill the car with petrol ready for the long journey. Back at the flat I laid out the clothes I’d wear for travelling and packed just about everything else. Another day and we’d leave Endover for good. I couldn’t say I was sorry to go; I’d never been one for putting down roots, always getting a thrill out of starting afresh, creating a new life and persona.
