After checking to see whether the red convertible was parked anywhere in Sophie’s neighbourhood, I circled the area, then traveled across town back to my place. Because of my lousy mood, instead of turning on King Drive, I drove to Declan’s house to sneer at them as I passed. It was petty, but I didn’t care.
The Corvette was parked out front along with a classic ‘70 Chevelle SS. Blue. I swerved back onto my side of the street and barely missed the oncoming vehicle. I’d seen the Chevelle several times. On my way to the cabin and three...or was it four times from my living room window. I’d seen it at the library. Hell, I’d parked next to it!
