Isabella Gomez's face changed instantly.
Colleagues from Bronte Comics were not worthy to see him?
How could he say such a thing!
Wasn't he smart enough to know that looking down on her colleagues was the same as looking down on her?
Seeing her displeased and dejected, Jonathan Sanders felt a bit of remorse.
He wanted to explain that what he meant by "unworthy" was simply that they were not at the same level to dine together, and he did not mean to belittle anyone.
But what good would an explanation do? He couldn't appear in such a setting with her.
It might be better to let her misunderstand and put an end to it all.
