Chapter 56: Contemplation
Isabella Gomez arrived at the hotel where her colleague Xiao Zhang's wedding banquet was being held. Xiao Zhang, dressed in a traditional Chinese wedding gown known as a Xiuhuafu, stood with her husband on the red carpet to greet guests.
Isabella Gomez congratulated them and presented her gift.
Xiao Zhang, however, was the first to ask about her boyfriend, "Why didn't your boyfriend come?"
Isabella Gomez looked embarrassed, unable to say that he simply didn't want to come. "He had something important to attend to and couldn't make it," she replied.
