Chapter 5: A Familiar Celebrity
"Making a fuss," Isabella Gomez chuckled, patting Lucy on the head. "He doesn't look like a scammer, but if you really think he looks familiar, try to remember carefully. He didn't even tell me his name; I suspect he doesn't even know who he is himself. Sigh, I just hope we can get him back home soon."
Lucy Murphy nodded, "Okay, I'll definitely think hard about it. I really do feel like I've seen him before. The moment I saw him, I felt this strange sense of familiarity!"
Lucy Murphy spoke with great conviction.
But Isabella Gomez laughed, not holding out much hope. After all, Lucy Murphy was a hopeless romantic; she found every handsome guy she met familiar.
Perhaps Jonathan had simply lost his memory, or maybe he had run away from home?
Isabella Gomez shook her head, no longer dwelling on it, and went out to buy him a phone and a computer.
What Isabella Gomez didn't know was that shortly after she left, a woman appeared at her doorstep.
The woman was stunningly beautiful, cold and aloof, with a professional makeup and neatly dressed in a solemn attire. She knocked on the door with a pious expression.
A moment later, Jonathan Sanders wheeled over to open the door.
Seeing the woman outside, Jonathan Sanders, as expected, showed little emotion. His thin lips parted, "You came quickly, Alice."
Alice, upon seeing Jonathan Sanders, widened her eyes, her expression slightly agitated.
But years of professional training allowed her to quickly regain her composure.
Alice cautiously looked around, then quickly slipped inside and closed the door.
"Sir, how are you here! We all thought..." Alice's voice trailed off.
"That I was dead?" Jonathan Sanders raised an eyebrow, finishing her sentence.
"But I searched for you for a month without any trace. Why didn't you contact me earlier if you were alive? Now, all your assets have been taken over by Nicholas Sanders and Matthew Sanders. It's too late." Alice was both excited and anxious.
A meaningful and fierce look suddenly appeared on Jonathan Sanders's face.
He cast a cold glance at the swaying leaves outside the window, as if they were demons and ghosts.
He said, "As long as I'm alive, it's never too late."
Hearing this, Alice's eyes lit up.
As his assistant for three years, Alice knew best that this man, hailed by the media as a business genius, always kept his word and avenged his enemies!
Alice quickly calmed down from the surprise of "Jonathan Sanders being alive" and looked around the room.
Just as she was about to speak, Jonathan Sanders interrupted her.
"Leave your private number and go. I need to stay here for a while. Don't come looking for me during this time. I will contact you when the time is right." Jonathan Sanders's voice was crisp and decisive, just like his personality.
He was very clear about what he needed to do next.
Alice had no choice but to keep quiet.
But she couldn't help but notice the small rented apartment. All the furniture was old, even the wheelchair Jonathan Sanders was sitting in was second-hand. Although it was clean, the ventilation was poor, the environment was bad, and it was too cramped. Alice couldn't believe that Jonathan Sanders, who was always meticulous about the details of his life, would be staying here for a while!
"Sir, if you need space to prepare for your comeback, I can find you a safe and comfortable house. This place..." Alice couldn't help but object to the living conditions.
Although Jonathan Sanders grew up in a world of schemes and competition, he was always provided with the best material things.
He wouldn't be used to such a harsh living environment.
"This place is fine," Jonathan Sanders cut her off directly.
Alice: "..."
Jonathan Sanders was always decisive and firm. Knowing she couldn't persuade him, Alice gave up.
But Alice noticed that there were quite a few female items in the house!
Meaning, a woman was also living here?
Realizing this, Alice looked at Jonathan Sanders with an incredulous expression. Was the boss cohabiting with a woman?
This was shocking.
The boss had never dated, always considering women to be troublesome. He only cared about status and power, never emotions.
How could...
But even though she was curious, Alice knew her place. She was only Jonathan Sanders's right-hand in business, and his personal life was none of her business.
Alice turned to leave, but suddenly heard Jonathan Sanders's low, stern voice, "Do not investigate her."
Alice was taken aback.
She had indeed just thought about investigating the female resident to ensure Jonathan Sanders's safety, but she hadn't expected him to see through her so quickly.
He was protecting the female resident.
Alice quickly lowered her head, "Yes, sir."
When Isabella Gomez returned with the new phone and computer, Jonathan Sanders was in the living room watching TV. This time, the content was not news, but an interview program about a software patent.
Jonathan Sanders watched intently, but Isabella Gomez stood beside him for a long time and couldn't understand what was so interesting about the program.
She placed the computer and phone in front of him, "Jonathan, I bought them for you."
"Mm," Jonathan Sanders's gaze didn't leave the TV, "Open them and turn them on. I need to use them now."
Isabella Gomez ground her teeth, looking at his profile. His legs might not work, but his hands did. Had he really gotten addicted to ordering her around?
But given their agreement and her sympathy for him, Isabella Gomez complied.
As soon as Jonathan Sanders got the computer, he immediately downloaded an English software. The name was long, and since Isabella Gomez's English wasn't great, she couldn't understand what he was downloading.
Jonathan Sanders opened the software, and his slender fingers began to work. But the characters that appeared under his fingers were strange, strings of incomprehensible code that Isabella Gomez couldn't understand at all.
Jonathan Sanders suddenly turned to look at Isabella Gomez, who was staring at him, "Go make dinner."
Caught in the act, Isabella Gomez quickly averted her gaze, "Oh... What are you doing?"
"A game," Jonathan Sanders replied curtly.
Isabella Gomez: "..."
She knew he wouldn't be doing anything serious.
She couldn't understand why boys were so obsessed with those boring games.
Jonathan Sanders caught sight of Isabella Gomez walking away from the corner of his eye and began to focus on the computer screen.
The software patent discussed in the TV program was originally his, but now it was claimed by Nicholas Sanders.
And Nicholas Sanders was even showing it off!
A cold light flashed in Jonathan Sanders's eyes. He couldn't let his enemy benefit from his own work!
With just a few keystrokes, he could destroy the database he had built over several months.
In the kitchen, Isabella Gomez had no idea that Jonathan Sanders had transformed into a cyber hacker.
She still thought he was just a disabled shut-in who liked to play games.
Isabella Gomez came back because she was attracted by the screams from the TV.
"What's going on? The patent program crashed? Cut to commercial! Quick, cut to commercial!" The panicked voice of the female host suddenly filled the room.
Isabella Gomez: "Huh? What happened to this program?"
