ALL SHE WANTED...
CHAPTER ONE
Grace Joba was tired of everything. Nothing seemed to work out for her good. Life sucked. She was 24 years old, a graduate of a prestigious university in Nigeria but had nothing to show for it. What made matters worse was that she was single. She had always been single. She thought herself a beauty though she knew she couldn't go for a beauty pageant and win. She wasn't bad looking but not one reasonable guy had even approached her to ask her out. Guys who made advances at her just wanted her for her body. She wanted more than just a fling.
She sighed. It was 12am but she couldn't find sleep. Her problems kept her awake. She was sitting on her small-sized bed in her rented self-contained apartment.
"Lord, I'm tired", she whispered into the still night. Being a Christian helped her a lot. She was glad she could tell her problems to the Lord and she was assured he hears her but many times she found herself at her wits' end.
She desired so much to love and be loved. She wanted nothing more in life than to be a wife and a mother. Many people had all kinds of great dreams and aspirations of life but hers had always been to be a family woman. Nothing more. She had a teaching job she did well at and the pay was good but she had no desire to advance in her career.
All she had, she had no interest in. All she wanted, she lacked. This made life suck.
She stretched out on the bed and tried to find sleep. Tomorrow was going to be a long day with Bible study right after school hours. She had to sleep. Some hours of reprieve from her problems would be nice.
Fifteen minutes later she was fast asleep.
