Mary clenched her fists in frustration, forcing out an apology through gritted teeth. “I’m sorry.”
I rubbed my ear and deliberately said, “What? I didn’t catch that.”
Mary had no choice but to raise her voice. “I said I’m sorry!”
“I don’t want to see anything like this happen again,” Alpha Nick said coldly, his voice filled with unshakable authority. Mary couldn’t help but shudder.
As we left the office, she shot me with a vicious glare.
