27. JIM “Mr. Hannibal?” “Yeah, what is it, Jim?” Jim could tell the engineer wasn’t really paying attention to him. He was pointing his flashlight around a pile of coconuts, trying to get a better look at the ship’s lone remaining hold. A drop of water splashed on Mo’s head, so he looked up and shone the flashlight on a pipe. It was about the rustiest pipe Jim had ever seen in his life and (surprise, surprise!) it was dripping. “s**t,” Mo muttered, “give me a leg up.” “Mr. Hannibal,” Tuan Jim said, folding his hands together to form a makeshift step for the engineer, “when Captain Howling Mad said that the America, um, fallen apart, you not seem too shaken up about it.” “Yeah, I guess not,” Mo said as he fiddled with the pipe to see how loose it was.
