Rachel I was in the bathtub soaking under the hot water while Mrs. Abarca readied my clothes. I had urged her to let me do things on my own but she refused-she plopped me in the tub and walked away. She was a smart woman. My body was in a whirlwind of emotions. I was elated from knowing Enrique loved me, delighted that he proposed to me but also fearful of telling him about my leg. I looked down at my knee, my heart breaking and my eyes filled with tears. The way the bone jutted out to the left and dislocated disgusted me. I looked like an aftermath of a bad carriage accident.
