Kaelen’s POV Dean leaped into the air, his claws came at me. The axe laid beside me ready to be used, but Dean looked fragile. One hit and I doubted I would be able to keep him alive long enough to get what I needed. Shivers ran down my spine, making me freeze on the spot, my brain short-circuited. Behind my ears, I heard my wolf purr. “Kaelen!” someone called. A hand wrapped around my waist, pulling me to the side. I staggered forward as the hold around me loosened, pushing me to the side. A whimper caught my attention, followed by crimson, smearing the walls around us.
