ARIADNE'S POV
I was in the kids' room, having a discussion with them about their afternoon nap when my phone rang in the living room.
"I'll be right back." I told them before I left the room to answer the phone.
I walked into the living room and searched for my phone, but it wasn't there. I listened carefully and followed the sound to the kitchen counter. I heaved a breath when I found it.
I picked it up to see that it was Alyssa. I smiled before swiping on the answer button.
"Hi." Alyssa stressed it, showing her enthusiasm.
"Hi, Alyssa. You sound really enthusiastic, did anything good happen?" I asked her.
"No, not really. Can't I be happy to hear your voice?" She asked and I laughed.
