LOVERS OR ENEMIES

My name is Maddie Rein Black, I have blonde hair, crystal blue eyes, and medium white skin, and I'm 17. My father passed away from a gang attack gone wrong and before that, he was in the army... He passed away when I was 13... After that, I started acting up... Why, well any kid would start acting up after losing a parent... me I thought I've always kind of had a little bit of a knack for getting into trouble... but it got really bad after he passed. I don't have any friends because... well... I'm distant... I hate talking to people and I've never felt as if I should talk to anyone... I don't usually smile... but when I do... it's usually when I'm reading a book at the cafe or in my room... Oh right... the cafe workers are like my second family... they know me... but I still don't talk to them much either... Unlike me, my mom enjoys speaking and her smile can light up the world... She's beautiful... no joke... and I love her... but like I said... I hate talking to people... My mom can be a model... well actually she used to be a model... that was until 'he' passed... She works at a cafe at night when school ends... so I just go there after school, usually... She works the early morning shift at the reception desk at a hotel that I always forget the name of... In school, I wouldn't necessarily be called the prettiest girl... I don't have guys at my feet... I'm okay with that... but... sometimes jealousy gets the best of me and I start fights... I honestly don't trust anyone... well except my books... because to me, they're humans...  So yep... my best friend is my books... sounds weird... but at least they can't talk smack on you behind your back... or at least they can't turn on you when you're going through a hard time... or they leave you for the popular clique because they crave popularity more than actual friends... And at least you can get out of this horrifying world with just a flip of a page... I'm sorry... I got carried away... Thank you for joining me on this long-ass journey... let's begin…
