First Meeting

Madison's POV I smile brightly while clapping my hands when Amanda and Merrick kiss each other completing the wedding ceremony. They look like such a perfect match that I will be damn if anything wrong goes with their bond. I just pray to Moon Goddess that my best friend keeps smiling all the time because sadness doesn't suit her at all. However, I have a little doubt about Merrick's parents because they don't seem to like Amanda much. But that can be fixed because if needed, I will personally warn them not to cause trouble for my sister like best friend. "Congratulations to you both." I say when the newly married couple stands in front of me. "Thank you very much." Amanda replies shyly while Merrick smiles looking at his wife with fondness. "Madi, you will visit me right?" Amanda asks making me roll my eyes. "You may be going to live in a new pack from today onwards but that can't stop me from meeting you whenever I want. So, stop worrying about unnecessary things." I reply pinching her cheek. "I have been trying to get her to understand that whenever she wants, she can come to meet you or her parents. But I don't think she is believing me." Merrick remarks getting a swat on the arm from Amanda. "It's me who has to leave everyone behind. So, you can't understand what's going on in my mind and heart." Amanda retorts and by the waver in her tone, I can tell that she is trying hard not to cry. "Guys, we can talk about this matter sometime later. Because right now, I think it's better if we move towards the reception area." I let out making them nod their heads in response. So, that's what we have done by walking towards the area which is selected for reception. While the newly married couple sit down at the table that is assigned for them, I sit with the Alpha and Luna of our pack. "Are you okay, Madison?" Luna Pearl asks me. "Why are you asking me this question so suddenly?" I ask back. "Amanda is going to live with her new pack from now on and we all know how much she means to you. So, I am just worried if you are going to be okay or not." I smile at the caring words of Luna Pearl because I know she is not pretending. "You are right, Luna. Amanda is more of a sister to me than a friend. So, yes I will miss her very much but it is also true that she has her own life to cherish." I reply shrugging my shoulders. "Our Madison is a very strong-minded person and I am sure she will be alright." Alpha Nolan remarks making me nod my head in approval. Our attention gets driven towards Beta Dylan who stands at the makeshift stage and starts giving a little speech about his sister. Next come, Amanda's Dad who is also the former beta of our pack. Finally, it's my turn to give my speech as the maid of honor so I stand up from my place and then walk towards the stage before taking the microphone from the former beta. "Hello, Everyone. I am Madison Colbert, the head warrior of the Red Crescent Pack. But today I am here as the maid of honor of my best friend come sister Amanda Brooks. Oops, I forgot that it's now Amanda Johnson as the fellow sitting beside her has able to capture her heart fully." I let out with a dramatic sigh making everyone laugh. "Jokes apart, Amanda has been by my side from the very minute of my arrival in the Red Crescent Pack. So, you can guess her importance in my life. Everybody knows that I am very angry, very stubborn but there is only one person on whom I can not be angry and that is her. I don't believe in the term soulmate but yes, I do believe in soul friend which is she is to me. Although she is leaving me today, our bond can not be broken because we will not let that happen. Right, Amy?" I ask using the nickname I gave her when we first met. Amanda nods her head while tears cascade down her face. I can feel myself getting teary eyes too but I am too stubborn to cry in front of everyone. I then look at Merrick because I have to tell him something. "Merrick, I know that you love Amanda a lot and you will do everything in your power to keep her happy. But still, if you ever hurt her intentionally or mistakenly, remember you have to face me because I hate when she cries." I let out making him gulp. I hand the microphone back to Dylan and get off the stage before walking where I was sitting before. But suddenly, my wolf sense trigger when a mouth-watering smell of pine and chocolate invade my nostrils. Nevertheless, the ballroom becomes silent and everyone's eyes shift towards the entrance. Curiosity gets the best of me to know what's going on so I turn around and my breath hitch when my eyes collide with none other than Alessandro Moretti, the current Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack. I have only seen him in the magazine cover pages but I now understand why everyone has suddenly become so silent. The powerful aura emitting from him is enough to prove the status he holds among the people. But what's uncertain for me is his green eyes which are very familiar to me, as if I have seen them before. Still, I can't pinpoint exactly where or when I have seen them. He starts making his way towards where I am standing but thankfully Amanda stands beside me alone with her mate. "Why are you so late?" Merrick asks Alpha Alessandro. "I had to attend an urgent meeting." Alpha Alessandro replies in a deep voice making me shiver for an unknown reason. "Fine but you need to buy me a costly champagne to get forgiveness from me." Merrick remarks while pointing a finger towards his alpha who chuckles along with Amanda. But here I am sweating like a pig out of nervousness. "As you wish best friend of mine." Alpha Alessandro answers before his eyes settle on me. I clear my throat not knowing what to do. "Oh, shoot I forgot to introduce the most important person in my mate's life beside me of course." Merrick jokes before pointing at me. "Alessandro meet Madison Colbert, Amanda's best friend and also the head warrior of the Red Crescent Pack. And Madison, this is my best friend and also the Alpha of our pack, Alessandro Moretti." Merrick says making both Alpha Alessandro and I look at each other. Alessandro's POV "I will call you later, Father." I let out before disconnecting the call. I rub my face feeling myself getting angry at what my father just told me. He can't be serious about fixing my marriage with his friend's daughter just because he thinks she will be a good luna for the pack. He knows that I already have someone in my life but still, he keeps pestering me to get married to the person of his choice. I think he has forgotten that I am the alpha of the pack, not him so I will be the one to decide what's good for the pack. "Don't you think you are forgetting about our mate whom we haven't found yet?" Damon, my wolf remark which made me laugh. "Which mate are you talking about? The one whom I will reject the moment I find her?" I retort sarcastically. "You will not reject our mate get it through your thick skull." He threatens as if that will stop me from rejecting our so-called mate. "Look Damon, I have told you many times that I will reject our mate because I love someone else. So, don't try to change my mind because it's not working." I reply while blocking the mind link. The car stops in front of the ballroom where the wedding is held. I get out of the car and walk up the stairs. Just as I reach the entrance of the ballroom, an extraordinary smell of Rose and Strawberry enter my nose making me curl my fists to control my urge to devour the person. Suddenly, my eyes collide with a pair of blue eyes who are staring at me with an unknown emotion. Without my knowledge, I start walking towards the woman who has captured my attention. However, Merrick and his mate Amanda stand beside the woman making me realize what I was going to do. "Why are you so late?" Merrick, my best friend as well as the beta of my pack asks. "I had to attend an urgent meeting." I reply while I can see the woman shiver by my deep voice. "Fine but you need to buy me a costly champagne to get forgiveness from me." Merrick remarks while pointing a finger towards me making me chuckle at his childish behavior. "As you wish best friend of mine." I answer before my eyes settle on the woman again who clears her throat which I think in nervousness. "Oh, shoot I forgot to introduce the most important person in my mate's life beside me of course." Merrick jokes before pointing at the woman. "Alessandro meet Madison Colbert, Amanda's best friend and also the head warrior of the Red Crescent Pack. And Madison, this is my best friend and also the Alpha of our pack, Alessandro Moretti." Merrick says while I look at Madison to see that she is already staring at me. "A female head warrior! Hmm, interesting." I let out mockingly. "Hearing your words, it seems like a girl being a warrior is a crime." Madison remarks glaring at me and I will be damn if this attitude of her doesn't turn me on. However, I hate it when any talk back to me, especially women who should be beneath men. "It is not a crime to be a warrior, but it is also true that when it comes to going to war, then only men are useful." I reply with a smirk. "You!" Madison tries to attack me but her friend hold her back. "Alessandro, why are you bullying Madison? Please man, don't spoil my wedding reception." Merrick says standing in front of me. "I just said the truth. It's not my fault that someone is too sensitive to accept it." I reply before walking towards the table where Merrick's parents are sitting. "Aah! Alpha Alessandro, it's good to see you here." Victor, Merrick's father says smiling at me. "But I don't think someone is happy with my presence here." I reply trying to control the anger that is flaring inside me because of that Madison. "Has anyone said anything to you, Alpha? Tell me, I will not spare them." Mendy, Merrick's mother remarks making me roll my eyes as if I need her help. "It's none of your business, Mendy." I snap making her tremble in her seat. I look back at Madison to see that Amanda is talking to her. I really want to destroy her arrogance thinking that just because she is the head warrior of the Red Crescent Pack, I will consider her as good as any male warrior. Madison's POV I storm inside the ladies washroom while trying not to destroy anything around me. What does he think of himself? He thinks just because I'm a girl so I'm weak. If Amanda hadn't stopped me then I would have taught that arrogant Alpha a lesson. "But now what are you going to do, Madison?" Ava, my wolf asks me. "I will reject him." I reply because I don't want a rude person like him as my mate. It's not like I want to have any other person as my mate, I am very happy with being single. "But his wolf is not bad. I have talked to him and believe me, he is completely different from the human." I roll my eyes at my wolf's change of thought. "If I remember correctly, you were ready to reject our mate from the start but now you're saying that his wolf is not bad. Look Ava, I am not going to change my decision at any cost." I reply splashing water on my face. "I understand your point, Madison. But still, I will advise you to think one more time about the rejection before doing it." That's all my wolf says before disappearing somewhere in my mind. I growl under my breath because now I am sure I will start thinking about the matter one more time without my intention. Ava, my wolf is a very silent and smart creature but she will talk whenever she thinks I am not doing anything right. So, I can't help but think if she is correct about not rejecting our mate.
