CHAPTER 2: WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A HERO

Deku: Katsuki. . . (Y/n). . Please stop

Deku lies there. On the floor as (Y/n) and Katsuki face off in a heated staredown. Your Stern eyes locked with Bakugo's explosive look. (Y/n) and Katsuki used to be good friends, With Izuku, they were the Three Musketeers. But that all changed when Katuski's Quirk came. And he turned into a ruthless bully.

(Y/n): Cmon Katsuki, If you want to bully someone, bully someone who'll fight back!

Katsuki looks at you with a pissed tone. Gritting his teeth.

Katsuki: You and Stupid Deku are nothing but Quirkless Rejects. I'd love to kick your ass!

The teacher pipes up 

Teacher: Bakugo! (L/n)! that's enough! I don't want to send you two to the office, you know it would go on your record, and UA will see that!

Katsuki grumbles. Stepping back as the bell rings. He grabs his backpack to storm off. You turn to Izuku as you offer your hand. He takes it, you pull him up with force as he looks at you. His soft green and black hair slightly ruffled as he gives a slight smile.

Deku: T-thanks.

You grab your backpack as so does Deku 

(Y/n): you know I can't stand Katsuki's bullying. Especially when it comes to my friend.

Deku's eyes widen softly. He looks at you, slightly shocked 

Deku: even with all this time that's passed between us, you still consider us friends?

You chuckle softly and smile

(Y/n): of course I do, silly Deku~

(Y/n) turns to Deku, Planting his hand on his shoulder, (Y/n) smiles, Deku blushes with a slight shade of rose pink. He awkwardly laughs as you turn and head to the door with Deku close behind.

Deku: So, Has your Quirk came in? 

Deku looks at you, you walk in the same pace heading past a small Pond of Koi fish. You look down. Slightly upset.

(Y/n): well, to be honest, I don't know if I even have a quirk.

Deku looks slightly shocked 

Deku: What? Didn't your dad have one of the strongest quirks? The Psycho 100? I heard it's insane.

You nod. Still looking upset, your feet tapping the stone sidewalk as you sigh.

(Y/n): he did, but, I don't think I inherited it, or any power. I'll never be a hero. *Sigh* and I signed up for UA. Mom is Gonna Kill me.

Deku looks down as well. And then back up to you 

Deku: oh yeah, your mom, how, how is she?

You look down and think.

(Y/n): well, it's been a few years but my mom is still as intense as ever

She slammed this guy Head into a Car door that one time.

And then there was that one time Josuke Was playing video games too loud

Deku: Oh yeah Josuke! How is he?

(Y/n): oh, well he's Somewhere in America sorting some stuff out with his Nephew. Apparently in some Crazy Noisy Bizzare Town. . .

Deku: that's, pretty Bizarre.

(Y/n): Bizzare indeed my friend. You know there was this girl Named Jolyne. Pretty cute.

You two stop at a split. You turn to Deku 

(Y/n): I'm heading home to break the news to mom. I'll see you tomorrow, okay?

Deku nods. You turn and head home, but little did you know of what was to come.

[MINUTES LATER]

Mom: YOU DID WHAT?!

She says, slamming her fist on the table.

(Y/n) is sitting at the table as His mom is About to Star Platinum him into the next dimension.

(Y/n): I- I applied to UA...

She grits her teeth. And then, she relaxes and sighs. 

Mom: Why, why would you do that? You know you don't have a quirk sweetie...

You look down. You sigh and almost tear up. 

You turn and look at her

(Y/n): because I want to be a hero! I want to be able to tell the world and those who inhabit this place, that they don't need to fear. They don't need to worry if their life is in danger! They can trust me! To put their faith in me! Like dad. . . People put trust into him, and he always kept it. .

She sighs. Hugging you tightly. 

Mom: I understand, and if you want. I'll allow you to try to get into UA. But, don't expect to get in, some kind of a quirk, life is much harder. I'm sorry (y/n).

You nod. She let's go as you stand up. Grabbing your school jacket and putting it on, you head to the door.

(Y/n): I'll be heading to the market, need anything, mom?

She shakes her head

Mom: no it's fine. But, be careful, okay? I don't want what happened to Joseph to happen to you. Old crazy man...

You leave. You Head to the market. Pondering, thinking to yourself. If you'll truly be able to be a hero, without a quirk, you'll. Be useless, but, that doesn't mean you can't try, right? Your mind wanders, not paying attention to what you're doing as you bump into a person. They're too busy watching what's going on, you look to see what they're doing as your eyes widen.

Katsuki, he, he's captured by some, sludge monster. Your mind races, and so does your heart. You push people out of the way as you get to the police tape as you can only watch, The Pros can't handle it! You have to, but, no, you can't, you have to wait for a real hero. And a real, hero came,

[My Hero Academia: You Say Run, begins to play]

Izuku. He runs in! Panting, not knowing why! His body, it's just moving. He can't stop himself, he can't Let Katsuki die! He runs in, face full of fear as you're shocked! Your mind can't process what that i***t is doing! He's going to die! He begins to try and go in and save Katsuki, but it's too late, he's grabbed too. He's being sucked in, pulled in!

You grip your jacket. You can't do anything, you have no quirk. Your friend is going to die. You just know it, until, someone speaks.

Are you gonna let him die? Are you going to let your friend die?! No! No, you're not! Now man up and go save him! Because that's IS WHAT A HERO DOES!

[Progress Until Y/n's breakdown 96, 97, 98, 99. . ]

Your mind explodes! A flurry of colors flows within your body, no, not just within your body, within your soul itself. Your hair sticking up as your body radiates with a godly power. You take a step forward, the sheer power causes the ground to rumble. You take more steps forward. Your mind and heart at a harmonic Rage. A hero turns to you. Extending his arm

Hero: Kid, stay back, you can't-

His hand touches your shoulder, your head slowly tilts to his direction

You shove it away as a massive burst of force comes from your hand! Knocking that hero away. You turn to the slime monster and continue your threatening walk. The flames being literally smothered by the force of your energy, It turns to you. Chuckling as its aims and fires a flow of sludge. You simply extend your hand. Showing your palm as you flick your hand. A massive burst of energy explodes from you. Destroying his attack. He looks at you with fear.

Katsuki turns. Seeing your Almost otherworldly Power! You aim to finish this attack. You run! Your fist glowing with an Almost rainbow like a flurry of lightning! c*****g back your fist as the sheer force of your strength would obliterate him, and your friends.

Your friends. . .

Your mind returns to your body. You stop yourself, only to be grabbed as well, his sludge body pulling you in as your form disappears. That surge of power disappeared from the realization, You begin to struggle. Expecting this to truly be the end! Until!

BOOM. A figure stops The beast. Grabbing Katsuki, Izuku and Y/n, that figure, was a man of sheer hight, golden hair, and a fearless smile.

ALL MIGHT

ALL MIGHT: I TOLD YOU THE TRAITS OF A GREAT CHAMPION, BUT I SEE I WASN'T LIVING UP TO MY OWN IDEAS.

ALL MIGHT SMILES WITH A STRONG SHOW OF WILL 

ALL MIGHT: PROS ARE ALWAYS RISKING THEIR LIVES, THAT'S THE TRUE TEST OF A HERO!

The sludge monster growls and lifts its tentacle to attack Him!

Sludge monster: Damn you All Might!

All Might c***s his fist back and utters his classic attack!

ALL MIGHT: DETROIT. . . SMASH!

With a Punch so strong! The pressure itself sends the monster into pieces! An explosion of sheer window power! A literal Tornado of Wind spirals within the City! The sheer force emitting as most hero's and civilians can't withstand this strength. The Tornado clears, as the sky darkens. Rain begins to show, the water pouring down as your eyes open. You landed not far away. A few feet, holding Izuku. The silence was damning. But, cheers began to ring out. All Might has saved us, once again.

As he is getting his full brand interview. You watch a few heroes scold Izuku.

Hero: what were you thinking? An idiotic move to run in like that.

You turn to them, annoyed. You speak up

(Y/n): Hey!

They turn to you. You stand up. Literally spitting on the ground. Near their feet. You look up, folding your arms as your fierce eyes show. Just like mom

(Y/n): that kid didn't have any powers, but regardless, he risked his life to save his friend. And what did you do? Nothing! He's more of a hero than any of you! A hero doesn't hide behind others! A true hero stands in the front of the World, so he doesn't have to walk over the bodies of his comrades! That's a true hero! I'm going home, Izuku, you want me to walk you home?

You ask. He blushes, nodding as he stands up. You two head off.

You fold your arms and walk away. It's about the late day, maybe 5 or 6. The sun is barely going down as the cherry blossoms beautifully fall down with an elegant dance. But You just want to get some sleep. Until. You hear his annoying voice.

Katsuki: HEY!

You turn around. To see Katsuki. Who looks pissed. 

Katsuki: Just to let you know! I didn't need your help! I will never need it, you're still a loser! Quirk or no quirk! And you Deku! You still don't have one, you two will never be as good as me!

He storms off. You and Deku Sigh. 

(Y/n): He's never gonna let us forget huh?

Deku: Tell me about it. Well, I tried. But, you have a quirk now, and-

Before Deku could finish all Might slides out from an alleyway. Posing valiantly

ALL MIGHT: I AM HERE!

Deku: WAAA!-

(Y/n): All Might?!

Deku: How did you escape the press?

All Might chuckles 

ALL MIGHT: HA HA HA I STAND FOR JUSTICE, NOT SOUND BITES, BECAUSE I, I AM AL-

Before he could finish he poofs into his deflated form. You look at him with confusion. You open your mouth to speak. But. All Might stops you. He turns to Izuku.

All Might: Sorry about that. Young Man, I came here to thank you. And to discuss your question from earlier. If you hadn't told me about your life, if you hadn't run into that fight, I would have been a worthless bystander.

Your eyes focus on all Might and then Izuku, who looks down in slight shame. Wanting to apologize.

All Might: I'm not done. And you, (he means you). I saw what you did, you saw your friend in the need of help. You knew, he was going to die, and you couldn't allow that. You risked your life to save your friends. To protect them.

All Might: there are stories about everyone hero, how they became great, most have one thing in common, their bodies moved before they had a chance to think, almost on their own...

Your Heart almost explodes. You feel. Something, you turn to Izuku. His face, beading with tears. He can't stop crying. You reach, grabbing his hand tightly. Letting him know you're here to help. He drops his head in silence. Your close your eyes with a silent smile, a few tears running down your cheek as well, all Might turns to you both. His Blue eyes with intensity, and His blonde hair flowing in the soft wind. He utters this.

All Might: you both can become heroes. . .

Izuku fell to The floor. On his knees, not of sadness, of joy.

"And That was the beginning of how our lives changed... Dreams can become reality...
