Namara Scott, once the cherished Luna of Vellex Park, is shattered by betrayal when she’s wrongfully accused of murder. Chapter 1-The Beginning of the End
Namara's POV: My eyes fluttered open, groggy and still heavy with sleep, but my body instinctively knew something was wrong from the strange dream I had. I stepped down from my bed, still half-dazed, when my foot caught on something, sending me tumbling to the floor with a thud. Groaning, I rubbed my eyes, trying to clear the sleepiness from my vision. But when I opened them, I froze. A dark, blood pool lay spread out before me, gleaming eerily in the dim light of the early morning. My pulse quickened, my breath catching in my throat. The metallic scent of blood hit me before I could process what I was seeing. Confused, I pushed myself off the floor, my hands shaking. Looking down, I saw that my gown—my nightclothes—were stained. The blood had stained my dress, but I didn't feel it. My heart raced as my eyes moved to the center of the pool. Ella. I froze. Ella, my personal maid, and my friend, was lying in the middle of the blood, her lifeless body sprawled out on the floor, her eyes wide open in horror, staring at nothing. She wasn’t moving. Her chest didn’t rise and fall. She wasn’t breathing. “Ella?” I whispered, my voice hoarse from shock. I crouched down beside her, feeling the coldness in her skin. I shook her gently, calling her name again. “Ella, wake up. Please, wake up.” But she didn’t stir. I pulled her limp body into my arms, my heart hammering in my chest. The fear was suffocating. My mind raced to find some explanation—anything that would make sense of this—but there was nothing. My stomach twisted in knots. Then I saw it. The knife. The blade was lodged deep into her chest, just above her heart, the hilt sticking out at a cruel angle. I gasped, instinctively pulling it free. The blood followed the knife, staining my hands and gown. My mind was still clouded with disbelief. There was no way this was happening. I felt a lump in my throat. I was frozen, unable to move or speak. My heart pounded in my ears, drowning out the sound of the door swinging open. Damien stepped into the room, followed by his Beta. He was supposed to be away, handling the matters of the Pack, but I’d heard rumors that he was on his way back. I hadn’t expected him to return this early. When his eyes met the scene in front of him, his face didn’t change—there was no sign of the warmth I had once known. His gaze locked onto the knife in my hand. It was too much. The blood, Ella’s body, my shaking hands. “Damien, I—” I started, but my voice cracked. I couldn’t breathe. “What the hell is going on here?” Damien’s voice was sharp, cold. He didn’t even acknowledge me, his eyes trained on the blood-soaked floor. I opened my mouth again, desperately trying to explain, but he cut me off. “You’re holding a knife.” He yelled, his voice filled with accusation. His eyes narrowed, not with concern, but with anger. I shook my head, my heart breaking. “I didn’t—Damien, I didn’t do this. Ella—she was my friend.” He didn’t move, his gaze unrelenting. The Beta beside him, as calm as always, seemed to sense the shift in the room, stepping back as if sensing the storm brewing. I didn’t care about him, though. I only cared about Damien. But he wasn’t looking at me like he cared anymore. The man I had married, the man I had loved, was gone. In his place was a cold, calculating Alpha, standing before me with disgust in his eyes. “You’re covered in her blood, Namara.” He said, his tone venomous. “You’ve murdered her. There’s no other explanation.” “Damien, please, listen to me. I didn’t—” I began again, but my words were useless. “You’re guilty.” He spat. “You’ll pay for this.” “No, please!” My voice broke as I crawled forward, dropping the knife and grabbing his arm. “Damien, please, I swear to you, I didn’t do this!” But he shook me off, his eyes hardening further. “Enough. Guards!” He barked, and within moments, two guards entered the room, seizing my arms and forcing me back. “Damien, no! You don’t understand!” I tried to struggle, but the guards’ grip tightened. He turned on his heel without a second glance, and the Beta followed him out, leaving me there, trembling and helpless. My body felt numb as I was dragged away, my heart broken in a thousand pieces. I was thrown into the dungeon like some common criminal. The cold stone walls felt suffocating as the door slammed shut behind me. The dark, damp air seemed to swallow me whole. My mind spun. I couldn’t process what was happening. I had been framed. There had to be someone else behind this, someone who wanted me dead. I wasn’t guilty. I couldn’t be. But no one would listen. Not now. Hours passed, and I sat in the dark, my head in my hands, my body wracked with fear and disbelief. My mind raced. Who would do this? Why? But even as I asked myself the questions, I didn’t have the answers. Eventually, the door creaked open, and I looked up to see my father, Eldritch, standing in the doorway. He looked tired, his face etched with grief. He’d been the Alpha of Vellex Park once before I, his only child married Damien. But now, even he had lost his power, the pack didn’t listen to him anymore. “Namara…” He said softly, his voice filled with sorrow. “Father, please. You have to believe me. I didn’t kill her. I don’t know what happened, but I didn’t—” He cut me off, holding up his hand. “I want to believe you, Namara. But…” He sighed heavily, stepping forward. “You were holding the knife. You’re covered in blood. I don’t know what to think. I’m sorry.” I shook my head, tears blurring my vision. “I didn’t do it. I didn’t kill her. Someone framed me.” “I wish I could protect you.” Eldritch said. “But I can’t. You’ll have to face the consequences of your actions. You’ll have to face Damien.” I crumbled in the corner, my heart breaking as my father left without another word. My breath came in short gasps as I realized just how alone I was. The next morning, I was dragged out of my cell, still in the same bloodstained gown. Damien was there, his cold eyes boring into mine as he spoke with an air of finality. “You’ve been accused of murder, Namara. You will face judgment tonight, at the full moon gathering. And you will pay for what you’ve done.” “No, Damien!” I begged, but he was already turning away. “Please! You know I didn’t—” He didn’t even glance back. As I was led away, my heart pounded in my chest. I didn’t know how this could end. But one thing was certain—I was about to lose everything. At the full moon gathering, I would stand before the entire pack, the wolves who had once loved me, now only seeing me as a murderer. My fate would be sealed, and there was no one left to protect me.
