The first thing I noticed as I strolled into the alpha’s office was how modern the furniture was. The Denver Pack is old, so I almost expected its alphas to have maintained the original office as much as possible. Then again, it also made sense for each alpha to redesign the office to his or her tastes, so I couldn’t blame the man who stood to greet us. I’d been our patriarch for a year, and one of the first things I did was move all of my father’s things out of the office and fill it with brand new furniture. I wanted everyone to know that it was my place, not his--and I especially wanted him to know that whenever he visited.
