They have finally found you,me?my voice barely above a whisper. Before he could answer, teachers rushed into the hallway, pushing students back into their classrooms. "Everyone, return to class immediately! Mr. Harrison ordered,his face red. No one argued. The frightened students hurried inside, but I couldn't take my eyes off the message on the wall. SHE BELONGS TO US NOW. My heart was racing as if it would jump out of my chest. Who was "they"? And why did they want me? The teachers tried to act like nothing happened , but nobody was paying attention. Even Mia kept glancing nervously toward the classroom door,her hands shaking. When the final bell rang, she packed her books quickly. "Luna, are you coming?" she asked. "In a minute." "I'll wait for you outside." As soon as Mia left, I turned to Lucien Tell me what's happening now. He closed his notebook slowly. You won't believe me. Try me.i said For a long moment, he simply looked at me. Then he sighed. The night you saw me under the big tree... you weren't supposed to." What does that mean? It means you saw something hidden from the human world." I frowned. I don't understand. He stood up and walked toward the classroom door. Meet me behind the old library at seven tonight." Why should I trust you?" Lucien paused. "You shouldn't." With that, he walked away. That evening, I couldn't stop thinking about his words. Every instinct told me to stay home. But curiosity was stronger than fear. At exactly seven o'clock, I stood behind the old library. The place was silent. The wind rustled through the trees. "You're late." I spun around. Lucien stepped out from the shadows. "I've been here for ten minutes," I replied. He ignored my answer. Listen carefully. Someone has awakened something that should have remained asleep. "What does that have to do with me?" Before he could answer, the temperature suddenly dropped. "Luna..."I was frozen in that spot. Did you hear that? Lucien's expression changed instantly. Run! A thick black mist rolled across the ground, swallowing everything around us. Dark figures began to emerge from the fog. They weren't human. They had glowing eyes and moved without making a sound. One of them stretched out a hand toward me. "Luna..." it whispered again. I couldn't move. w. The shadow lunged. Before it could reach me, Lucien stepped in front of me. His eyes flashed completely black. The shadows stopped. Then Lucien spoke in a voice that didn't sound human. "She is under my protection." The creatures hissed and slowly disappeared intothe darkness. Within seconds, they were gone. The night became quiet again,Too quiet. I stared at Lucien,my mouth was open but nothing came out. His eyes slowly returned to normal. "You..." I whispered. "What are you?" Lucien looked away. "I'm the reason they're hunting you." He turned and began walking into the darkness. Without looking back, he said one final sentence. "If you want to survive... don't fall in love with me." I stood there, frozen, watching him disappear into the night. But deep inside, I already knew something terrifying was about to happen. It was already late. No matter how hard I tried... I couldn't stop thinking about him.
