I spend the night tossing and turning, despite the bed in Adela’s guestroom being more comfortable than the one I share with Mack. So, even though Adela and I went to bed early, the next morning I feel like I barely slept at all. “Tea, Aerin?” Sat in Adela’s warm country-style kitchen, I lift my gaze from my plate filled with bacon and eggs. “What?” Dressed in a pair of perfectly pressed slacks and a pale pink sleeveless shirt, with her white hair neatly braided, she lifts the pot of tea.
