I Hate/Love this Mafia Man

*NARRATOR POV* *In her first apartment in Italy* “Lord I am tired as hell.” says Kadesha and she shuts and locks her front door. She takes a moment to lean against it and take a deep breath then takes off her shoes, and puts down her bags. “Momma!!!” says her son Xzavier as he comes running at her for a hug. She laughs, shakes her head and leans down to catch him and give him kisses all over. “Ewwww ok… OK MOMMAAAA” he says as he laughs. They hold hands and walk to the living room to see Gina sitting on the couch smiling at them both. Gina gets up to hug them both goodbye, “He was great as always”. “Goodnight and thanks again” says Kadesha. “Girl, no worries he’s a good boy” says Gina. Gina looks at Xzavier “Besides if he woulda act up I woulda cut his lil tail (spanked him), but he don’t need it” she says with a smile. Xzavier looks at her with wide eyes, Gina and Kadesha laugh while Gina walks out the door. Kadesha puts Xzavier in bed and gets into her own. She starts thinking of her life up to this point as she lays there until she can fall asleep.  *BACKSTORY TIMEEEEE!* See she's Trini/Jamaican and also Italian, the island part is from her Mom and the Italian’s from her Dad. She was born in Jamaica, moved to Trinidad at 9 to be closer to her Moms parents, then moved to Italy at 14. The first year was great even though her Dad was always working he still made sure to make time for her and her mother. They would have a family day once a week and go to a movie, shopping, to a restaurant, what the family wanted for the whole day. Then one day a month after Kadesha 15th birthday while the family was on one of their outings all hell broke loose.  They were riding in the car, A driver, and a guard up front while Kadesha and her parents were in the back with Kadesha in the middle. Everything seemed fine just like any other day until a car came out of nowhere and side swiped them at an intersection  The car rolled 2 times before landing rightside up. Kadesha can barely open her eyes but all she can see is flames around her and all she can feel is excruciating pain all over. She tries to speak but nothing comes out, then she hears someone walking up to her before she passes out. When she wakes up she can hear beeping and can tell wherever she is is bright without opening her eyes. At this moment she knows she's in a hospital, but she can’t remember why at first. She tries opening her eyes and as she finally does she sees a doctor talking to 2 officers. On the inside she's panicking but hoping she has a poker face on the outside. See she actually knew not ALL her father's “work” was legitimate. And because of this she thought he got caught and that's why the cops were here and her Dad wasn’t. He got arrested. While deep in her thoughts the doctor looks over at her and notices she awake and immediately questions her name and how she feels. At the same time the two officers start firing off questions. In the midst of all this Kadesha just gives them a deadpan look as if to say “If you shut up a little I’d answer you”. So they all stop talking and the Doctor asks “What is your name?”, and begins asking easy questions most 15 year olds know  to see how she is mentally. She answers them all correctly and honestly, until the officers ask about her parents and the accident itself. When they ask where they are she just looks at them because she assumed they were arrested.”Well if Mom and Dad aren't with them where are they?!” she thinks. But then she realizes they don't know who her parents are, and if she tells them her last name or her parents' names they’ll just hold her for information about her Dad's business.So, she lies and says her parents are dead and she was with another family member in the car. She then asks who else survived, the officers and doctor look at each other. Then the doctor comes to her bed, kneels down and he holds her hands like she's his own child, and tells her “You were the only one alive in the car 'bella ragazza (beautiful girl), there was only one other person found in the car and they were already dead.” Kadesha immediately gasps and tears up as the doctor continues “The car was completely in flames and blown to bits when police arrived and the body was unrecognizable in pieces and you were on a sidewalk.” At this point she is bawling, crying loud because her family isn't here. The officers ask who else was in the car and she says she just remembers her uncle but asks if there was anyone else found. The officers say no, there was just her and her uncle and a lot of blood and fire…. She loses it. This time she gets herself so worked up about her parents being dead and “Someone from Daddy's work probably got him finally” that they have to sedate her. As she blacks out her last thoughts are her family.When she wakes up the doctor is back but this time with a tall dark haired man with dimples and glasses. Both are speaking in Italian, which she isn't very fluent in because she's usually with her dad in public and he translates. The thought makes her want to tear up because he was teaching her Italian but now he'll never get to. The strange man looks at her and smiles, this makes the doctor turn to look at her. Both approach her bed and the doctor asks her some questions. Afterwards Kadesha cuts right to it and says “So who is he?”, making both mean laugh. The strange man introduces himself as Riccardio, the owner of the local orphanage. Kadesha just looks at him, then lays back and sighs. She never would've thought at 15 so much would happen in 24 hours.
