LAURA’S POV I stood on the front porch, my breathing not steady and my hands sweaty. Even in the cold, it feels as if my body is on fire. My teeth clenched while gritting on it, not out of anger, but out of fear. Fear of what Jade told me is true. Bitterness piled up in my throat as I try to gather my thoughts. How will I confront my mother? How do you ask your mother if she ordered a kill on your father, the man who loved his family and loved his wife more than life itself?
