JADE’S POV I had to dump my mother’s car since my father put a tracker in it and every time we thought we ditch the cops, another one came out of f*****g nowhere. At this very moment, we’re sitting underneath a bridge waiting for the rain to settle down. Laura is fast asleep on my lap while I listen to the angry storm and the wind making unbearable noises. I had to carry Laura for almost a mile when she couldn’t keep up anymore. Her eyes were swollen to a point where she could no longer keep them open. She kept repeating “I killed someone.” until she fell asleep. Her stained clothes are soaking, but the blood is still very much noticeable on her white T-shirt. The wind is icy and the water running underneath the bridge is not helping. I tried to cover her body with as much of my jacket
