JADE’S POV
“Please mam, we’ve been on the road since midnight, we just need a place to stay for the night,” Laura begged the old woman to let us stay in the barn for the rest of the night. She’s shivering and the old lady nodded, but still looked like she’s afraid we’re going to kill her or something.
She gave Laura two blankets and bread like we’re some f*****g poor people, well at this moment we don’t even have a dollar.
Laura thanked her when she closed the door. We walked to the barn, and the rain came down heavily with every step we take until we run towards the barn. Laura’s face is still swollen from all the crying and probably the cold weather. We opened the two wooden doors where chickens were flying all over the f*****g place.
