“Did you sleep okay?” I asked Laura when she opened her eyes. I struggled to sleep with all the pain. “I did, and you?” Yes, I lied. Emma is still sleeping on the couch, and thank God, I can have a few minutes with Laura. “What’s the plan?” I pulled her closer, and she notice the pain I’m in. “Jade, you know you have to drink the antibiotics and painkillers for a reason?” she retorted. “Yeah, I know, but it makes me feel weird,” I admitted. “It will make you feel weird, but at least you won’t have pain.” “Okay, I will drink it.” She gave me a quick kiss and pulled out the bag with the pills. I gulped it with water and gave her a stare. “You have to, babe.” Emma opened her eyes, making me roll my eyes, and Laura picked up the mood. She gave me an evil stare before she greeted Emma.
