As soon as they were alone in the bedroom, David gently pushed her against the wall and passionately kissed her. Alexa moaned softly and gave in to the intensity of his touch. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer as they continued kissing.

David's hands trailed down her body, and she shivered with pleasure. He slowly lifted her up and carried her to the bed. They undressed each other in a rush of desire, their bodies entwined as they explored each other.

It read, "What were you doing at your ex-lover's house?" Her heart skipped a beat as she read the message repeatedly, wondering who could have sent it.

She suspected it was her husband's number, but she couldn't fathom how he would have found out about her whereabouts when he was away for work.

The thought of her husband finding out about her infidelity with David filled her with dread and guilt. She tried to compose herself and think of a plausible excuse, but nothing came to mind.

Her mind was clouded with fear and anxiety as she drove home, constantly checking her phone for any more messages. She couldn't wait to get home and confront her husband about the message, but at the same time, she was afraid of his reaction.

As she entered the house, she was greeted by the head maid, who informed her that her husband had arrived and was waiting for her in his study. Her heart raced as she made her way to the study, wondering if Ethan knew about her visit to David's house.

As she entered the room, she saw Ethan sitting behind his desk, a stern look on his face. Without even greeting her, he asked, "What were you doing at his house?"

She was shocked that he knew about her visit, but she composed herself and replied, "I just went to see him. We talked, and that was it."

"I can't believe you would do something like that," he spat at her. " What were you thinking, going to see your ex-lover?"

"I didn't do anything wrong," Alexa protested weakly. "We just talked, that's all. There was nothing going on between us."

"You went to see him behind my back, and that's a betrayal in itself. You should know that I punish every act of betrayal" he said, as she could see the anger in his eyes.

"I'm sorry," she said quietly, looking down at her hands.

He didn't say anything for a long moment, just looked at her with a mix of anger and disappointment in his eyes. Finally, he spoke again.

"I don't want you seeing him again, Alexa. If I find out that you're still seeing him, or that anything has happened between you two, there will be consequences. I won't hesitate to take drastic actions," Ethan said, his voice low and threatening. "Do you understand me?"

She nodded, her heart sinking. She knew what he meant by "consequences," and the thought terrified her.

Alexa was terrified. She had only been married for two days and was already faced with all these. She knew he was capable of doing anything he wanted, and the thought of what he might do to her and David filled her with dread.

After he left, she went to the bathroom and broke down in tears. She felt trapped in this marriage, with a man she barely knew and whom she had no real feelings for. She had made a mistake with David, but she didn't know how to fix it.

As she wiped her tears, she realised something even more troubling. She had forgotten to take her pills that day.
