Chapter 5: Damian

"I can't believe how pretty it looks," Keylee said.  At first, I thought she was talking about the hall but I saw she was looking at herself in the reflection of the mirrors. I rolled my eyes. Why the hell did I ask this female to accompany me? Other than I was expecting a good b*****b after the ceremony. "Don't you think it looks pretty, Alpha?" Keylee said to me smiling. "Yeah, the hall looks great. Adeline did a great job," I answered and her smile faltered. I looked out at the long tables covered in blue cloth. Silver and white flowers filled the flower vases and the dinner plate settings were laid out just so. Adeline truly outdid herself.  I stood up, from my seat at the main hall table and cleared my throat loudly to get everyone's attention.  "I want to take this opportunity to officially welcome the Granger pack to our home. This is now your home. Alpha Frey was an honorable and fierce male. I hope I can be half the alpha he was. He has left your lives in my care and that is a responsibility that I honorably accept. Tonight we feast in your honor and in the memory of Alpha Fey." The males in the hall growled in agreement with my words. I lifted my glass and everyone followed suit. "Sir Alpha Frey, may he be with the blessed Moon Goddess in the Fade." The hall erupted in howls and growls of reverence. After everyone calmed down. I walked down the steps to the center of the hall. Marcos walked alongside with me.  "All former members of the Granger pack, young and old, rise." I proclaimed.  All the members rose and stepped forward.  "Each member who wishes to swear allegiance to our leader, Alpha Damian and be a part of the Yellow Moon pack do so now by taking a knee." Marcos read from the Old Dominion Book of Wolves that he was holding. Each former member of the Granger pack bowed down on one knee and lifter their palms. "Repeat the official oath as I do say it. I give my life to the pack-for as one we move, I give my soul to the Moon Goddess-for she is the one who moves us, I give my loyalty to the great Alpha Damian-for he is the one that protects us," Marcos declared.  Each member repeated the oath loudly and proudly. I growled and howled my acceptance of their oath, "We arrived at this hall as two packs. We leave tonight as one!"  The hall erupted again in howls.
