Chapter 3: Karime

"You heard the Alpha. We need to bring the female leech back to the castle." the tall wolf guard said to the other two. "What are we supposed to do with the male leech, Patrick? Alpha said only take the female." the right guard told the tall middle one.  "Drain the leech." the one named Patrick said.  "You don't honestly think we are going to go willingly dogs," I sneered. "Ha! b***h, you think you can take one of us on. " the right guard laughed. I smiled slowly and used my natural lift power to pounce on him and put a dagger to his throat, "Who's the b***h now?" I spit at him. Everyone was shocked to the point of being immobilized for a few seconds and then all hell broke loose.  Demetrio threw his wolfsbane-drained throwing star at the left guard and one at the Patrick. The left guard fell to the ground being wounded in the leg. Patrick dodged the star and tackled Demetrio.  I stabbed the right guard in the neck, knowing it wouldn't kill him but it would weaken him because of the wolfsbane. He still managed to swing his fist and it collided with my cheek. I fell backward off of him.  Demetrio and Patrick were rolling and throwing punches at each other. Patrick knocked Demetrio back with a punch in the jaw. Patrick leaped up as I ran at him. I used my momentum to drop him back to the ground and he laid on the ground a little dazed. I grabbed Demetrio off the ground and we used our natural lifting powers to run and fly through the air away from the lands of the Yellow Moon pack. We didn't stop till we reached the border of the clan's land, where we landed out of breath. "f**k! You see now, Kari! I told you we shouldn't have gone there!" Demetrio said as he spits out blood. "Let it go Dem. Chill out. We aren't dead." I said as I raised a hand to my sore cheek. "Your un-f*****g-believable! We were close to being kibble bits and you are telling me to chill out! And for what? We didn't learn a damn thing!" Demetrio continued to scream. "Calm your ass down or someone will hear you. And we did learn something. I learned that the new wolf arrivals were not all males. They had females and pups in the bunch. So they can't be bringing in too many warriors if they have females with them. That is good information to have when planning an attack. Know their weaknesses. Those females and pups are their weaknesses." I explained calmly. "Well, you didn't tell me you used your emotions gift when we were out there. How the hell was I supposed to read your mind?" Demetrio said, still mad but calmer. "I'm sorry, Dem. I know I put us in danger. It won't happen again." I said to calm him down, all the way down. "You don't expect me to believe that, right?" Demetrio laughed and I knew I was forgiven. "Come on, Dem. You can eat dinner at our house. I owe it to you." I said as I swung my arm on his shoulders and started walking in the direction of my house.  "That's the least you can do. One other thing. Why do you think their Alpha only wanted them to bring you back and not me?" Dem asked as we walked. "I was thinking the same thing. Weird. Maybe the dog was horny and couldn't pass this up," I smiled and motioned with my hand to my body.  Demetrio looked at me and burst out laughing and was still laughing when we walked into my house.
