New Student
Ruby launched a shower of sparkling, wet diamonds in my direction, drenching my head, causing me to squeal in delight, Ruby laughed and splashed me again. I returned the favor in kind. We were waist deep in the creek without a care.
“How long you been coming here, Miss Anna?”
“Since I was young. Jimmy and I used to spend time together here, but he stopped coming a long while ago. This is one of my favorite spots in the entire world.”
