Armageddon: Defying Fate

The first hunt.

As Kiran left his room he quickly went to the commercial district, to register that he was leaving the Academy for hunting, after that, he sprinted towards the Academy gates.

A lot of students had noticed when he went to the commercial district to register for hunting outside the Academy, and as they saw him rushing towards the gate, they were sure what he wanted to do, especially the old students.

"He must have completed the basic classes, that's why he is trying to go for the special reward," one of the students said.

"Yes, that true, with his strength, there is almost nothing the instructors could teach him, lucky bastard," an old student said.

Kiran ignored their conversation and kept rushing towards the Academy gates, but as he was just about to reach it, he received a notification from his transponder,

1 to 1 odd if Kiran reaches 500 meters in the wild

1 to 1.5 odds if Kiran goes up to 1000 meters in the wild

1 to 2 odds if Kiran goes up to 2000 meters

1 to 3 odds if Kiran goes up to 3000 meters

You can bet with as low as 100 task points.

All the students were excited as they saw an opportunity to make some task points.

All the old students chose the option that Kiran would only reach 1000 meters out in the wild, they made their conjecture because they knew how bad it felt hunting for the first time, most of them had even puked after killing their first evolved monster.

Though they had all experienced killing evolved monsters in the virtual environment, during their entrance exams, killing the monsters in virtual space and killing them in real life was different.

The new students didn't know much about hunting, so they thought, Kiran would also be like them, not knowing much about the hunts, so most of them chose the first option.

Su Mo was excited inside his room as he saw more students kept betting with their points,

He had expected this, Kiran had become a kind of a celebrity after his fight with Sam, the new students held him, in high regard as he had won respect for them, while the old students were angry at him for making them lose face.

So anything he did relating to Kiran was going to make him task points,

" keep betting, keep betting, the higher you all bet the better" Su Mo said laughing.

Near the gate of the Academy, Kiran had stopped rushing when he saw the notification sent to all students by Su Mo,

"This guy is still trying to make money off me again," Kiran said smiling.

Kiran had collected Su mo's contact from Sam, so he sent him a message.

Su Mo was busy laughing inside his room as he saw points entering his account, but his excitement was cut short as he saw Kiran's message, which had stated that he wanted a 50% share of whatever point Su Mo got from the gambling.

"Damm that Kiran, he is simply a thief, I do all the work, and he gets all the points, I will just ignore the message,"

Seconds later another message came from Kiran, it was a threat, if he didn't agree to the terms, Kiran would turn back and not hunt anymore.

"Damm that bastard, "

He sat back, for some seconds thinking of what to do. Then he immediately came up with an idea.

He sent Kiran back a message, he would give him 40% just like the last time, if Kiran agreed to share the video feed, of his hunt.

As Kiran saw the new message, he quickly agreed, apart from his dual body and energy evolution which he had taken care of, he didn't have a secret that could not be shared.

Su Mo also received a message of Kiran's agreement.

"Fantastic, now I will make more points"

He quickly prepared another message and sent it to all the students.

"Hi students, I am here once again, this time you can all pay 5 points, to watch how the Kiran the king of the new student, kills the evolved monsters, live from your transponders, don't worry in case you don't have enough Task points yet, you can always borrow from me"

Su Mo was ecstatic after sending the message he knew almost all the students would pay to watch Kiran's live feed, especially the new students, they would all want to know, how it was hunting evolved monsters in the wild. The old student would want to know how much Kiran had gotten stronger after, attending the basic classes.

He opened up his transponder to check the statistics of the bets students had placed, most of the new students had placed a bet on the 1st option as he had guessed, while the old students had placed a bet on the second option, he had guessed that too.

What he did not expect was that they would be three people who placed a bet on the fourth option, Kiran himself, Sam, and Airra.

"Those bastards, they want to take away my task points,"

He had been investigating Kiran since he entered the Academy, and with his findings, he had calculated that Kiran would be able to reach 3000 Meters out there in the wild, but he knew none of the students could evaluate that because they didn't have access to the information he did.

Kiran had placed a bet with his remaining 50 points on reaching 3000 meters outside the Academy.

After placing his bet, he activated the live video feed, and then walked out of the Academy and entered the wild.

As he walked out of the gate he was careful, he checked all of his sides for any sightings of the evolved beast but there was none, so he dashed into the forest, about 50 meters into the forest he came face to face with a large cat.

Kiran faced the cat seriously, though the cat looked a bit cute, you could see a ferocious expression on its face.

This was probably a normal house cat before it mutated into this ferocious evolved monster, its size right now, was as big the size of a normal tiger, before the alien invasion, The tigers now had grown more than 3 times their normal size.

Kiran had heard stories of how most of the evolved monsters, used to be domesticated animals that were taken as pets by humans before they evolved into ferocious monsters.

The spectators inside the Academy could see the vicious cat in front of Kiran.

"Let's see how he deals with this ferocious cat"

The ferocious cat was in the 4th level of basic evolution

The cat made the first attack with its sharp claws threatening to make a s***h at Kirans face, Kiran enlarged his hand, and threw a punch at its claws, it was sent back a little, he rushed towards it before it could stabilize itself, throwing a punch at its head, it collapsed on the ground after receiving the punch.

Then he kept throwing punch after punch until its head was blasted, there was blood all over his suit, from the gory scene he had just created.

The old student outside we're shocked, was this his first time killing the evolved monster, how could he be so calm.

"This guy must be the reincarnation of a killing God, he killed the cat so brutally without showing as much as a remorse"

After killing the cat, Kiran quickly left the scene, he knew the scent of blood would soon draw other evolved monsters to this place.

He aimed to go farther into the wild, so he could get the special rewards, not waste time here.

He rushed into the forest once more, this time more careful than when he first entered, he took notice of monsters and always avoided them on his way,

Some minutes later he was already in the range of 300 meters outside the Academy, after entering this range he met some evolved monsters he could not run from, so he had to kill them on his way, after he killed them, he made a long dash towards the forest again.

This time he didn't stop until he was in the range of 500 meters.

The students watching the live feed, lamented as they saw how easy Kiran had made it into the 500 meters range,

Especially the new student, they were angry and threw curses, as all of them had made a bet, that Kiran would only reach the 500 meters range, now he was in the 500 meters range, and they could see he had the strength to go deeper.

He fought fiercely in the 500 meters range, before dashing deeper again.

The students looked as he entered the 700 meters range, evaded, and killed some monsters, a few minutes later he was already In the 900 meters range,

The old student silently started praying for Kiran to stop at the 1000 meters mark, they wished he would stop here, though they could see Kiran had the strength to go further, they wished he didn't,

Kiran didn't stop at the 900 meters mark but kept on rushing until he came across a pack of wolves at the 1500 meters mark.

The old student cursed as they lost all their points,

" curse you Su Mo, he has cheated us of our points once more, am sure that bastard knew Kiran could easily pass the 1000 meters mark". One of the students cursed loudly.

The other students too felt the same, this wasn't the first time they had lost points to SuMo,

Outside the Academy 1500 meters into the wild, Kitan faced the pack of wolves contemplating if he should kill them or just run away from them, his target was 3000 meters into the wild, he didn't want to waste time here killing them, but then a smart idea came to his mind.

He quickly attacked the wolves, killing them easily with his punch, he had fought wolves during the Academy exams so he knew all their weaknesses and how to quickly kill them. He looked over for the alpha in the wolf pack.

At the back of the wolves, a white-colored Wolf could be seen, it was the biggest wolf in the pack, you could see it giving orders to the rest of the wolves.

He dashed towards it, ignoring the other wolves, the wolf didn't back out, as it saw Kiran rushing toward it, instead, it rushed to attack, as Kiran met with the wolf, he kicked it in the head, sending it flying, the wolf was in the 5ft level of basic evolution so it wasn't that injured, it stood up, howling ordering the other wolves to attack Kiran.

Kiran wouldn't let the wolves near him, so he quickly went over to the alpha, attacked it until it died, the other wolves were left in disarray as their leader had died, so he picked them off one after the other, with each punch killing a wolf.

The old students outside had been angry when they lost their bet but had kept watching, as they saw Kiran approach the pack of wolves, they wanted to see, how badly beating Kiran would be fighting the Wolves, but they got angrier as be Killed all the wolves, Kiran was stronger than he was when he fought Sam, they were idiots for betting Kiran would only reach the 1000 meters, Mark.

After killing all the wolves Kiran went further to dismember their bodies and let blood flow into the air, spreading throughout the air, everywhere.

He went and hid in the back of a large tree. After some minutes a lot of evolved monsters came to eat the meat of the dead wolves, as Kiran saw a lot of animals approaching that direction, he quickly rushed further inward into the forest, on his way he hardly saw a lot of animals.

That was his plan, to draw out the monsters using the wolf carcass, so he would go uninterrupted into the forest.

He easily passed the 2000 meters mark, after the 2000 meters mark he met with a lot of strong evolved monsters most of them in the 6th level of basic evolution just like himself, he had to fight fiercely to keep going deeper.

At the 2900 mark, he met with five 7th level basic evolution monsters, he had to fight madly using his sword with all he had, before killing 3 of them and injuring the rest, allowing him to run forward, though he was left with injuries, he kept going forward.

As he was near the 3000 meters mark, he could feel they were strong monsters right at the front, so he found weaker monsters, killed a lot of them, and gathered their bodies in one place, using the same technique he had used before.

Students watching the live feed, couldn't believe it, the 3000 meters mark was a checkpoint, only the strong old students hunted in, even some of the old students could not get there.

But Kiran had used his tenacity and intelligence to get there.

Su Mo cursed as he saw Kiran in the 3000 point mark, he would have to give Kiran and his friends, points for winning the bet now.

"Well, I have now reached my checkpoint,"

Kiran exclaimed.

He put off the live feed, and then looked over at his suit, it was all bloodied and dirty. Some of its places had even been damaged, he had to get a new suit when he reached the academy.

As he was rushing into the forest, he had heard countless notifications as he killed the evolved monster, he could not wait to see how many points he had now.

He taped his transponder, trying to check his points.
