Armageddon: Defying Fate

The end of Academy Exams

All the remaining participants of the Academy exams entered the canyon, and we're immediately besieged by the evolved monsters there, the participant remained clustered together and started attacking and killing the beasts.

Kiran and Airra had their backs against each other, guarding each other backs against ambushes by the evolved monsters, most of the monsters were 1st level and second level basic evolution realm, so it was not a challenge to the participants as most of them were in the 2nd level of basic evolution, that was the lowest criteria for taking the Academy exams.

Kiran and Airra were been besieged by a pack of wolves made up of about 100 wolves, though most of the wolves were in the 1st level of basic evolution realm, the wolves attacked madly with each attack made specifically for taking lives,

Kiran had activated both, the fast sword and dragon strike, each s***h he made killed a wolf at either the 1st basic evolution realm or the 2nd, Airra on the other hand was wielding a short knife, which almost looked like a Dagger, but was longer than a dagger when Kiran saw how she was fighting, he was sure she had activated a technique and was using it an also with each strike,

Some minutes later most of the wolves were dead, and only about 30 of them remained, these 30 wolves had not attacked since the beginning and we're only giving orders to the other evolved wolves in the first and second level of basic evolution, the thirty wolves approached Kiran and Airra, they could both see that the wolves were stronger than the ones they had fought before,

The wolves were in the 3rd level of basic evolution, but not all of them, they were five wolves who were moving at the back of the pack, Kiran could see that they were 4th level of basic evolution realm,

The five wolves gave a command to the other 25 wolves, and they ran madly towards Kiran and Airra, about 15 wolves rushed towards Kiran, the first wolve that reach Kiran, was immediately decapitated by his sword, he kept on killing the wolves as they attacked, some minutes later he had killed 10 wolves, and only five were near him, he could feel Airra panting and was starting to get tired from the assault of the wolves, she had killed 5 wolves of the 10 that attacked her, Kiran quickly killed the five remaining wolves, by his side and then turned to help Airra, he was a 5th level basic evolutionist, killing 3rd level basic evolution monsters was not that hard, he quickly went to Airra's side to help her in killing the wolves by her side,

the other participants had also gathered themselves in a group of three, and we're also fighting and killing the various other monsters that were in the canyon, and by now more than half of the students had been killed and eliminated from the exam, once a person was killed, their body would disappear, exiting the virtual space.

One of the stronger groups fighting the monsters in the canyon was Jiang Zhi's group, his group was made up of two 4th level basic evolutionists with Jiang Zhi himself been the third person, his group was fighting a group of evolved jackals who were mostly in the 1st and 2nd level of basic evolution realm, with the strongest being only in the 3rd level of basic evolution.

As Jiang Zhi fought the evolved jackals, he. always looked over at Kiran and Airra side, Airra was the only competition he had in these exams, he was happy when he saw Kiran and Airra were attacked by the wolves who were stronger than the jackals attacking his group, but later he grew restless as he saw Kiran easily killing the wolves without breaking a sweat.

"Who would have thought the weird, eyed boy is in the 5th level of basic evolution realm," he said as he deciphered kirans strength.

"Is he really a teenager?" he thought.

"Guys we have to quickly kill the monsters and go attack stronger ones, that Star family Airra's friend is in the 5th level of basic evolution realm, if we don't quicken our kills, he would take first, and that isn't going to be good for us"

The two students in his group agreed with what he said, increasing their attacks, killing the jackals faster, the two students in Jiang Zhi's group were students specifically trained by his family to help him take first in the Academy exams, they would fail their task if Jiang Zhi could not take first in the Academy exams.

At Kiran side, Kiran had killed all the wolves that were fighting Airra,

"I can't believe you are still stronger than me, even after Cellular evolution, I can remember I became an evolutionist before you did, and my family had spent every resource to get me to 4th level basic evolution realm, how did you train?"

Airra asked seriously.

"Well, am a natural genius that's how," Kiran said jokingly,

As Kiran and Airra were conversing, the 3 last wolves remaining at the back, had started rushing towards them, the wolves were stronger than the ones that had attacked them before, they were in the 4th level of basic evolution.

A wolf jumped and lunged towards Kiran, Kiran slashed, creating a deep wound on it, by the side of its stomach, the wolf fell back, gearing for another attack, Kiran did not go after it, he saw that the two remaining wolves had attacked Airra as if they knew she was weaker than Kiran, she had successfully parried the attack of one of the wolves, but the other wolf had almost bitten off her hand, before Kiran arrived and punched it, sending the wolf flying.

"You are tired, you should rest by the side, but be careful of ambushes from the other monsters.

She wanted to decline but, Kiran had already started fighting the wolves.

The three wolves attacked Kiran at the same time, he activated dragon strike, using its strong thrust to puncture the head of one of the wolves, before removing his sword from its head, another wolve, was already near him lunging towards his neck, he slides sideways evading its maw, immediately the last wolf arrived attacking with its claws, Kiran kicked the wolf's claws with his legs, sending it flying, he removed his sword from the wolf's head he had punctured,

He Activated his two techniques with his full strength, turned, and faced the two wolves, the wolves attacked together, each one attacking from his sides, he rushed towards the one from his right, decapitating it with his full strength, the last wolf was already behind his back, he turned and kicked it with his legs before it could stand up, he followed it with a strike, making a deep cut in its the stomach, it struggled and growled, for some seconds before it died.

Airra looked agape, as she saw Kiran killing the wolves, those werewolves in the 4th level of basic evolution just like herself, she was not sure if she could kill those wolves by herself,

" he has become a monster," she thought.

She looked over at, the canyon, most of the evolved monsters and participants were dead, only the stronger student and monsters remained, close to the entrance of the canyon she could see Jiang Zhi's group crazily going after the weaker monsters, the two students in Jiang Zhi group would injure the monsters, allowing Jiang Zhi to go for the kill, which meant it was Jiang shi who got all the points for killing the monsters.

"That cheating bastard"

she quickly checked the leadership board, Jiang Zhi's point had reached 3500, Kiran had become second with 2000 points, Airra herself was 3rd with 1800 points.

"Kiran, we have to quickly kill monsters, Jiang Zhi's group are going around killing the weaker monsters raking up points, while everyone else, is busy fighting the stronger one's, and Jiang Zhi is the one making the kill,"

Kiran looked over and found Jiang Zhi's group, going after 1st level evolved monsters,

"Two can play that game, we will follow their footsteps, and go after the weaker ones too"

Airra had rested, and was now in full strength, both of them went around going after the 1st and 2nd evolution monsters too, everywhere Kiran passed a sword strike would fly along the place killing a lot of monsters as he moved, Airra was also putting down monsters as she moved, though she could not kill the monsters as fast as Kiran.

Jiang Zhi was depressed as he saw Kiran and Airra going after the weaker monsters as he did,

"We have to move faster, those guys have started killing the weaker monsters too"

A few minutes later almost all the monsters were dead,

In a dim light hall, a group of people could be seen, looking at a screen displaying what was happening in the canyon,

"The students this time around are stronger than all the students we have had in the past" a man sitting at the highest chair said

"Yes they are, especially that boy with aurora-colored eyes, he is in the 5th level of basic evolution realm, when did he undergo Cellular evolution?"

"All around the continent this time around, monsters like that kid, have popped out, some Academies even have more than one of them, it's good at least we have 1"

"Most of those children were either babies recently conceived, or born during the day of the beautiful Apocalypse, I think they are all strong because of those aurora colored lights," another man said deeply looking at the screen, if one could concentrate on what he was looking at, you would find out that he was looking at Kirans eyes.

"I think it's time we make the exam more interesting," the man at the highest sit said laughing.

Inside the virtual space, Kiran and the remaining participants had almost finished killing the monsters.

On the leadership board, Kiran was first with 8000 points while Jiang Zhi was second with 6000 points, Airra was closely behind with 5000 points

"Airra, I would injure these monsters in the front, you prepare to quickly kill them," Kiran said,

"Thank you Kiran," Airra said from the depth of her heart, her family had always been competing with the Jiang Family, her parent had warned her to carry first in this examination, winning against the Jiang Families Jiang Zhi, even though she could not come 1st in the exams, it was ok if she got second ahead of Jiang Zhi, without Kiran she didn't have hope of passing Jiang Zhi.

Kiran quickly injured some 4th level monsters seriously, leaving Airra to make the kill.

As he was injuring more, the whole canyon was shaken as a loud growl came fort, everyone stopped, including the monsters, the ground thumped as a large tiger entered the canyon, it looked menacing with long saber took hanging from its mouth and claws shining as it walked.

Everywhere it passed humans and monsters alike were slaughtered with its claws, Aron looked at the tiger, it was the 7th level basic evolution monster, it was the strangest creature he had ever seen.

"Airra, quickly kill the injured monsters, I will injure more in a bit, than a 7th level basic evolution monster, I do think anyone here can fight it, so we should make the best we can before we die"

Airra had been frozen when she saw the tiger, but was jolted awake by kirans words, she quickly started killing the injured monsters.

The tiger moved from place to place in the canyon, leaving death in its wake, all the students and monsters in the front were killed, Jiang Zhi and his group tried running but even they were killed.

As Kiran saw the tiger approaching them he quickly said

"I will draw the tiger away, you should have time to quickly kill these injured monsters, with their point, you would become second."

Airra thanked Kiran again and started killing the injured monsters.

Kiran ran towards the tiger to fight it, the tiger raised his head to look at Kiran in ridicule as it saw, him running towards it, Kiran quickly came in front of it, making a s***h with all his strength at the tigers head, the tiger raised its claws and hit the sword sending Kiran flying backward before he could stand up, the tiger was already rushing towards him, it came near him, as it was about to cut him with its claws, he made another strike activating fast sword and dragon strike, he manages to land a strike, but the tiger was not injured deeply it only got a flesh wound.

He looked at the tiger helplessly and then looked back at Airra she was almost done killing the injured monsters.

"I have bought enough time, it's time to go all out"

Captain Ming had taught him a technique of the body evolutionist he could use with a sword, the technique amplified his strength 2 times his normal strength, but it consumed all the strength in the body after using it, and this was the perfect time to use it.

He rushed towards the tiger activating the technique, launching his sword towards the tiger, his hit back with its claws, the claws and the sword met, creating sparks, this time Kiran only moved back a bit and was not sent flying, the tiger was angry its attack did not send the human flying.

It used all its strength to attack once again, this time it was too fast, and before Kiran could parry it, its claws were already in front of him, large claw marks appeared on his chest as he bled, his ribs were broken, he could feel serious pain from all over his body, he cuffed out a mouth full of blood, the tiger came near him again, he used all the strength he could muster plunging the sword towards the tiger his sword fly fast entering the tiger's eyes, the tiger had miscalculated thinking its prey could no longer attack it, the tiger growled in pains, as blood came rushing from it eyes,

"Hahaha," Kiran laughed as he saw how angry and in pain the tiger was, he had wanted it to feel the pain he felt.

The next thing Kiran heard was a loud thud, and his vision failed him as he fell, he was dead, the tiger had attacked furiously.
