Armageddon: Defying Fate

Kiran walked slowly and extremely carefully as he approached the 4000 meters mark, he had heard a lot of tales from the students about how terrible it was inside the 4000 meters mark,

Today he was going to enter into it no matter how dangerous it was.

As he entered the 4000 meters mark, he was instantly surprised, everything inside there was quiet, it was as if there were no evolved monsters inside of it at all, now he started to think, if all the horrid tales he had heard were false.

He had already entered 100 meters into the 4000 meters area, and he had not met a single evolved monster, he had even picked some herbs on his way,

"If this is is the 4000 meters area, where are all the strong evolved monsters that can kill me with one blow," Kiran thought as he kept walking in deeper, everything here was normal, he had not seen anything unsafe in this place.

By now he was not as careful as he had been when he first entered,

He was soon going to regret his recklessness.

A white light streaked past his face, he only saw a blur before something had left claw marks on his face, if not that he had shifted his face away a bit, with the strength of the claw which had injured him, his head would have probably been smashed.

Kiran's heart started beating fast, as he just understood what had just happened, he had almost died because of his carelessness.

"am a fool, how could a place even the instructors warned new students not to enter be easy to survive in"

He had made a mistake that had almost cost his life, he quickly activated the aurora elemental energy covering his entire body.

He looked at the evolved monster who had almost killed him, it was about 10 meters away from him, its eyes glued to his, looking for a sign of weakness, In other to attack.

It was a little mink, as Kiran saw what kind of animal it was, he was surprised, it was a small mink, which looked menacing with sharp claws outstretched at the end of its hands.

It was the smallest evolved monster he had seen in the wild, if it wasn't looking at him, so dreadfully he would assume it was harmless.

"So you are the asshole that had almost killed me," Kiran said looking at the mink, he squeezed his face in a kind of threatening way, trying to depict ferociousness.

They stood there looking at each other for about 5 seconds before the mink finally got tired of looking at Kiran's face, its threatening expression was not working this time.

Kiran once again saw a blur, the mink had attacked, before he could protect himself, he felt a thud in his chest, and this time he was sent flying back.

But he was not that injured this time around, he could feel, the mink had withdrawn some of its strength the moment of its attack,

He stood up dusting his hair, and then once again looked at the little mink, he could see burn marks on the mink, its claws had been burnt by his Aurora-colored elemental energy.

"Hahaha bastard, how to do you like my aurora energy now," Kiran said laughing as he looked at the mink,

He could see the expression on the little mink's face had changed, almost as if it understood his mocks.

The monk once again furiously charged towards Kiran.

The mink was the smallest and fastest evolved monster Kiran had fought, he never saw it when it attacked he only saw blurs, which made him unable to dodge any of its attacks.

He was once again hit in his leg, the impact was so strong that it sent him tumbling, but he was not fatally injured.

The mink stood meters away from Kiran, it had attacked the stupid human once again, and it was still itself that was injured fatally, its claws hurting from burn marks, the energy covering the human was so hot, that its beautiful claws had started melting, when it saw how damaged its claws had become, it became so angry, it was going to kill this human. It thought

As Kiran stood up once again, it gazed at him hatefully, Kiran looked at the mink, he could see that its claws had melted halfway through.

"Why are you not attacking anymore, little mink," Kiran said teasing the mink, he knew it could not understand what he was saying, but it definitely could read his facial expression.

And just like Kiran had predicted, the mink rushed over attacking him once more, and just like before he only saw a blur before he was sent flying.

This time only one-tenth of the mink's claws were left remaining, Kiran taunted it once more as he stood up, and just like that the scene continued, the mink sending Kiran flying and then Kiran taunting it whenever he stood up.

10 minutes into their fight, or probably we should call it, Kiran taking a beating, Moran looked all haggard.

though Kiran looked haggard after being sent flying countless times, the mink was looking worse, its claws were all gone, and its paws were black from burn marks, even some of its hair was burnt black when its paws became seriously injured it had tried attacking with it's the body.

Kiran looked at the mink with elation in his eyes, though all his body ached from hitting trees all over the place whenever he was sent flying by the mink, he was still not fatally injured, but the mink had seriously become injured instead.

This was his plan all along, that was why he kept taunting the mink, he wanted it to get injured and weakened so he could finally kill it with his sword.

He had not been able to decipher the level of evolution the mink was in, it was more powerful than him, so his sense did not work on it.

But he could tell that its body would be useful for making evolutionary liquid, he had not made any evolutional liquid since the first ones he had made.

on his way he had gathered enough herbs for a couple of bottles of evolutional liquid, the only thing he was missing was material from evolved monsters, and the mink would be perfect for the job.

The mink had not attacked this time, even after he had taunted it, it was heavily injured and weakened, so this time he was going to be the one doing the attacking.

He brought out his sword from his spatial ring, willed the aurora elemental energy until it had covered the sword fully, before rushing towards the mink,

he activated fast sword coupled with dragon strike, before making a s***h at its neck, it dodged and his sword hit empty air, but he saw that the mink's speed had decreased drastically, and it was no longer blurry when it moved, he could see it's movement vividly.

He ran towards it, attacking from it back, as it tried avoiding the sword, this time it was the one avoiding Kiran as he attacked, though it was heavily injured it still avoided most of his attacks, with few making it to its body.

The mink looked almost black after some time after taking a few attacks from Kiran.

whenever Kran's sword hit its body, though the sword hardly penetrated its skin, the aurora elemental energy, would burn its hairs and even into the little wounds made by the sword, creating serious wounds that tormented it.

Kiran looked at the mink it was finally at the end of its rope, he could see that it no longer had any strength to fight anymore, so he walked toward it, this time infusing his entire elemental energy into his sword, preparing to deliver the last blow.

But as faith would have it, he would not succeed, the mink let out a loud painfully growl, and its body slowly started getting bigger until it was about 3 times the size of Kiran.

Kiran looked at it halting his steps and slowly drawing back, the mink was so freaking big, it no longer looked like a cute little mink, and the surprising part was that its claws had started slowly regenerating, even the wound on its body was healing faster.

The freaking mink had used a technique to enlarge itself that looked like his body control manual, though he could feel there was more to the mink's technique than just enlargement, there was something about overwhelming vitality added to its enlargement.

The minks eyes were red, and by now it had lost control of its mind, the technique it had just used, was a life-saving technique it had learned after its previous evolution, it increased the minks strength so many times over, but he could not control it yet, it would always lose itself to madness whenever it used the technique, and would be left defenseless when the technique had used up all his strength.

Kiran could see, the mink fighting to get control of its mind, he didn't understand what was happening but this was probably the best time, to get out of here.

He could no longer kill the mink, with how strong it had gotten, he would die from impact, if it attacked him, though he might not be wounded directly from the claw, the impact would kill him.

He quickly made a dash and ran back towards the direction of the 3000 meters mark, he was praying deep in his mind, that he escapes before the mink realizes, because with how fast it was, a single dash from it, and he would be dead, his heart was beating fast as he ran, he had never been this close to death.

He felt air rush toward his back, and he knew immediately that the mink was finally on his tail, he pushed all his energy towards his legs, increasing the speed of his legwork technique to its max, increasing his speed to almost 3 times faster than before, but he could still feel the mink was getting closer to him,

Sweat dripped from his head as he ran, everything the instructors and old students had said was true, even a mink was this scary, what if he had met a more ferocious evolved monster, he probably would have been dead already.

He was frustrated and terrified, the mink was almost near him, he was going to die if he didn't think of a way out, he thought about sending a distress call to the Academy but he knew they would not get here in time, he was too far inside the wild.

He kept thinking, while he ran but could not come up with a viable solution, he gathered all his remaining energy including the aurora elemental energy towards his legs planning to increase his speed, but right then a miracle happened as he willed the aurora elemental energy into his legs, with the thought of increasing his speed, he felt his legs become so weightless and he practically zoomed off about a 100 meters in an instant,

He was happy, confused, and could not believe what had just happened, it was almost as if he had teleported, he zoomed so fast he could not keep track of how long it had taken, but he was sure it wasn't more than 5 seconds.

"I moved 100 meters in about 5 seconds, what the hell"

Kiran was still left surprised, he didn't know how to explain the phenomenon, he could only remember it had happened because he infused his legs with all the aurora elemental energy that was in his body.

He tried the same thing once again, infusing all the author elemental energy into his legs to see if he could do it once again, and he was left disappointed, apart from the burnt plants under his feet, nothing had changed.

The mink was still on his tail, though he had created about a 100 meters distance between them, he could still feel the mink rushing to where he was, so he quickly continued running once more, infusing his elemental energy into his legs trying to see if it would work again for the second time, and luckily after countless tries, Kiran once again achieved the movement of a 100 meters in about 5 seconds.

This time he had completely lost the mink, can't be sure it could not find him again even though he was already at the 3000 meters mark, so he still did not stop running, he was not sure whether the monster would follow him into the 3000 meters area.

He kept trying to remember exactly what had happened, and what exactly he had done to initiate his teleport-like movement, everything was exactly the way he had done the countless time he had failed trying it.

So he kept trying as he ran and when he was In the 2000 meters mark, he once again he achieved his inconceivable speed, but this time he took note of something he had forgotten before during his other tries, as he willed the elemental energy, there was a strong conviction to achieve a faster speed in his mind, and it was as if the elemental energy was following the conviction in his mind.

To test this, he once again tried running while infusing all his aurora elemental energy into his legs with that strong conviction of achieving a faster speed, and he succeeded, he finally found a trigger for the fast movement,

His elemental energy was a mutation of light energy, and one of his light energy perks was speed.

"I was seriously a fool, for not figuring this out earlier" Kiran finally understood his teleportation had something to do with his affinity to the light energy.

And so he began making his way back to the academy, on the road trying out his new ability, he found out that the more he used the ability the lesser distance we would be able to cover after using it too many times, and he had to wait for the aurora energy to recover before he could hit the 100 meters in 2 seconds once again, and yes 2 seconds, that was the time it took after Kiran figured out the ability.

He could not wait to get to his quarters before trying countless ideas that ran into his head as he ran,

"If I instead willed the aurora energy into my hands what would happen, what if it was my head, eyes, or any other part of my body what would happen"

Kiran could not wait to test out all these theories.
