Academy Exams

Today April 1st marks the day of the Academy examination all over the continent,

Kiran had trained hard for two months, for these exams, and today he was ready.

The Academy exams normally took place in a virtual environment, this environment was realistic and even pain could be felt.

No one really knew the contents of the exams and how to pass them, till the students enter the virtual space.

In the Green city bureau of the evolutionist, Kiran was walking fast towards the virtual room, he had trained a bit too much and had forgotten it was time for the exams,

As he was about to enter the virtual room, he saw supervisor Hidar together, with captain Ming and his vice, James

"Boy, what were you doing, you almost missed the exams," captain Ming asked

"I trained too much last night, so I wanted to get some sleep, I didn't know it was already morning," Kiran said.

"It's good you are here now, quickly enter the room, Mrs. Abby has been waiting for you, she is in charge of the virtual room" supervisor Hidar explained

Kiran quickly entered the room, the room was filled with virtual capsules, and deeper inside he could see a young beautiful woman wearing glasses and a white coat on top of her black suit.

"So this is the Kiran I have been hearing about, I thought u were going to forfeit the exams and make my job easy," Abby said lazily.

"Good morning Mrs.Abby, and yes I am Kiran, sorry I am late I kind of overslept" Kiran quickly explained.

"Supervisor Hidar woke me early in the morning just for your exams, I didn't even get enough sleep, well it's good you are here now, you are already late so I will just quickly explain how the capsule works, as you know the exams are in a virtual environment created by the Academy, and this capsules you see all over the room is how to get there," Abby quickly said opening one of the capsules and then beckoned Kiran to come closer.

Kiran walked towards the capsule and then Abby gave him a helmet,

" quickly, Wear this helmet and then enter the capsule, I will activate the capsule when you are inside, remember everything you see inside is not real but the pain you would feel is almost real, you are already late" Kiran did as she asked

After Abby activated the capsule, Kiran closed his eyes, and then opened them to see himself in a small white room,

"So this is the virtual environment"

Everything looked real, if he had not entered the capsule, he would not have believed everything here was virtual, he pinched himself and he could feel the pain.

He examined the whole room, there was no door or furniture inside the room, as he was trying to find a way out of the room

"Good morning young man I am Siri, the A. I am in charge of this examination"

A figure materialized in front of Kiran introducing himself,

"Good morning, I am Kiran"

"You are exactly 10:20:15 late for the exams, so I will explain the rules of the exams quickly

The exams will take place in a forest and pass the exams student will have to kill the evolved monsters, and students must not

1. Kill other students or torture them

2. Must not create a group of more than 3 students.

The Academy is only taken 50 students, the top 50 students with the most kills, gets to enter the Academy"

The A.I quickly explained,

Captain Ming had explained to Kiran that, the exams always involved killing monsters, so he had been training for that and was not surprised by what the A. I said.

"The outskirts of the forest contain 1 level basic evolved monsters, the deeper you go into the forest, the stronger the monsters become, the strongest monster in the forest is a 7th level basic evolved monster, anyone who kills it automatically becomes a student of the academy. You get 1 point for killing a monster at the 1st basic evolved level, and 10 points for monsters in the 2nd level, there is a 10 point increase for monsters in the level above the first,

The first, second, and third students with the highest point will get a special reward from the Academy and remember when in a group points are shared equally between the three members of the group" the A. I continued

"You can access the leadership board for the top 50 students in the exam by mentioning the word command and then followed by " top 50" ".

Kiran immediately tried it and he could see some student names with their scores by the side

Kiran was surprised it's had only been 10 minutes into the exams and some people had points 100 and above.

He was also amazed Airra's was second, he had been in the city for two months and they had not seen each other, they both have been too occupied with the training for the exams, though they had talked through the transponder.

He wondered whether he would get to see her in the exams,

" Now, that I have explained what happens in the exams it's time to go, remember the exam stops when everyone is dead or when the strongest evolved monster is dead"

After the A. I made the last statement kirans vision went black, and then immediately he found himself in the outskirts of a thick sss forest, filled with large tall trees with leaves covering the skies,

He walked into the forest, and then everything went silent, before he entered the forest he could hear animal noises, but now everywhere was silent, which meant the evolved monsters had noticed when he enters, he had learned a lot from captain Ming about the behaviors of the evolved monsters.

The evolved monsters considered humans as food and also a means of getting stronger, they got stronger by consuming other evolved monsters and also the flesh of evolutionists.

Kiran quickly put his guard up, brought out his sword, and then started looking all over for sightings of the evolved monsters.

He heard a sound of a twig breaking near him, and then quickly made a s***h with his sword towards the direction of the sound,

[HISS HISS] sound was heard as a big snake 10 meters long came crashing on the ground, the snake was a 1st level basic evolved monster and Kiran had successfully detached its head from the rest of its body with his sword, this was the first evolved monster Kiran had seen and also killed,

He did not feel pity for killing the beast, this was just a virtual environment and it was not real.

As he was checking out the dead snake he heard countless hissing noises from all around where he was, he knew what was happening, this was a den of snakes.

He examined the snakes quickly rushing to where he was, and figured they were all 1st level basic evolved monsters, he was in the 5fth level of basic evolution, so these snakes were not a threat, in his eyes, they were just points.

He slashed the first snake that got near him, almost severing it into two, four more snakes quickly came from his left, he infused his sword with energy and quickly chopped them into two, he didn't want to get tangled with them, as he could see more snakes coming to his ways,

He spent 15 minutes fighting and killing the snakes until he crushed the last snake with his hands, bringing an end to the s*******r, he counted 30 snakes dead together with the first snake he killed which meant he had 31 points,

He said the command and called up the leadership board, he saw his name in number 45 of the top 50 students, about 17 minutes had passed since he entered the forest, and the points of the students in the top 50 had increased, Jiang Zhi who was first now had 500 points and Airra who was second had 300 points.

He had to quickly get deeper into the forest so he could catch up to the top students, he randomly picked a direction and then sprinted, along the way he had killed about 50, different kinds of evolved monsters but they were all in the first level of basic evolution bringing his points to 81, he heard fighting in the front, so he quickened his speed, he had not met anyone since he entered the forest, he was hoping to see Airra, before the conclusion of the exams.

He came near the fighting, and he could see two people fight a group of five monkeys, one person was injured, while the other person was intensely fighting off two-three monkeys, he noticed the monkeys were in the 3rd level of basic evolution, throughout his journey to this place, he had only seen monsters at the 1st level of basic evolution,

"Do you guys need help?" he said shouting,

The two students fight were alarmed when they heard his voice, especially about his offer for help. This was a competition where the ones with the highest point got admitted to the Academy, no one would offer another stranger help.

"No we can handle it ourselves," the student fighting the three monkeys said, Kiran did not move from where he stood, he understood why they were alarmed, but he could see that the boy would soon be exhausted, and the monkeys would win, those were points he was not willing to let go.

And just as he predicted the boy also got injured and could no longer parry the attacks on the monkeys, if Kiran didn't attack the two students would surely get killed and then eliminated.

Kiran quickly went over to the seriously injured boy fighting the remaining monsters, brought out his sword, infused it with energy, and used one of the techniques he learned from vice-captain James, called fast sword, to cleanly decapitate one of the monkeys, this technique, increased the speed of a sword strike to almost 3 times as fast as a normal strike, before the other monkey could react, he made another strike severing the other monkey into two from the waist.

"Thank you, for saving me," the injured boy said surprised at how Kiran effortlessly killed the two monkeys.

"Please help my brother" the boy begged.

"I am killing the monkeys for points anyway, there is no need for you to beg me," Kiran said walking towards the other boy who was fighting three monkeys.

The boy had already been injured in his hands so he could no longer use his short blade effectively.

Kiran came like the wind, cutting down two monkeys at the same time, when the last remaining monkey saw how Kiran had killed two of the companions, it lets out a loud shriek, jumping on top of a tree nearby and kept making loud shrieks, Kiran knew it was calling it other companions.

"We have to quickly get out of this place, it calling the other monkeys," the injured boy said panicking, he quickly explained to Kiran that they had seen a large group of monkeys when they roamed the forest, the group of monkeys had stronger monkeys at the 4th level of basic evolution, they ran when they saw the monkeys and that was when got chased by this five monkeys.

Monsters at the 4th level of basic evolution were not much of a threat to Kiran so he was not planning on running,

"You guys can go, these monsters aren't able to do anything to me"

The two students thanked him and then quickly left.

Kiran could see 8 monkeys running towards him, 3 of the monkeys were at the 3rd level of evolution while the remaining 5 other monkeys looked bigger and stronger than the rest, they were at the 4th level of basic evolution.

Kiran was rather happy instead of afraid, his points would really shoot up after killing these monkeys.

He cut down the tree where the shrieking monkey had climbed and quickly killed it as the tree fell.

3 of the stronger monkeys at the 4th level of evolution were the first to reach where Kiran was, Kiran used the fast sword to s***h one of them, a large wound appeared on its chest, this time around the monkey was not cut into two, it can be seen that monkeys at 4th level of basic evolution had a stronger body.

The monkey got angered and then rushed furiously toward Kiran, this time around Kiran targeted its neck, and then used fast sword striking two times before decapitating it.

When the two other monkeys saw their companion dead, they also rushed furiously towards Kiran, Kiran used another lethal technique called dragon strike together with the fast sword, decapitated another monkey, and then stabbed the other, in its stomach destroying its intestines and organs.

After killing 3 4th level basic evolution monkeys only 5 monkeys were left 2 in the 4th level and 3 in the 3rd level of basic evolution.

He rushed towards them, easily killed the three 3rd basic evolution monkeys, and was only left with the remaining two 4th level basic evolution monkeys, when the monkeys saw they were the only ones left, they started shrieking and turned to run away, they were his points, he could not allow them to run away, so he picked up speed, plunged his sword into the back of one of the monkeys, the monkey fell with an injury in it's back, though it was still alive, he infused his sword with more energy and then used dragon strike, slashing it two more times, then it's died, the last remaining monkey had drawn some distance as it ran, Kiran could not quickly catch up to it, so he used all his strength to brandish dragon strike together with fast sword, and then threw his sword at the monkey, his sword flew into the air, moving fast until it impaled the monkey on a tree, it screamed, and seconds later it died.

Kiran was happy with his hunt, he had killed 13 monkeys and made 440 points, 200 points from the 4th level basic evolution monkeys and then 240 points from killing the 8th 3rd evolution monkeys with all these dead monkeys his ranking would go up, maybe he would catch up to the top 10, as he was about to check the leadership board, he heard the ground shaking, trees trembling, and falling, A large strong monster was about to attack him.
