Chapter Twenty-Four
"Wake up!" The shock of sudden consciousness rolled through my body like a wave. My arms went out to brace myself, my eyes snapped open. It was Lilly. I let my heart catch up.
Lilly was shoving my arm. "Wake up, Mack! I think I've got it! I think I figured out how to find the cheerleader!"
"Jesus, Lilly! Take it easy! You freaked me out." My head was killing me. For a change, it wasn't because I overdid the booze the night before. Though I would much rather have had a hangover. My hand went to the bandage on my head. It was crusty with dried blood.
"Sorry, Mack," Lilly said, almost breathless. "I couldn't sleep. I've been doing some research on the web."
