Chapter Forty-ThreeIt was a beautiful morning; the sky was clear. It was a perfect setting for the Visitors’ departure. The old grandfather clock had just struck nine and the PM had arrived. Soldiers ringed the adjacent field but so far the Visitors’ craft had not arrived. Seeing the PM and Mrs Shaw talking to the Captain and his Deputy, Toby went out into the garden. The space vehicle was due but not overdue. He turned away and looked towards the entrance but all was quiet. For the first time for over two months no visitors were expected.
