As I woke up, I felt cold, my head was pounding against my skull and the world seemed groggy. I smelled expensive cologne and there was talking maybe down stairs. My green eyes fluttered open and I noticed I was chained to a wall. I slowly sat up wiggling a bit as my head was killing me to a point where I just wanted to lay back down.
But I knew I couldn't because I had to figure out what was going on. I looked around as I was trying to figure out exactly where I was.
There were footsteps approaching before a gorgeous male came inside the room. Red eyes, blonde hair. He looked like he was from a movie.
"Your awake. Are you hungry?" He asked casually, walking over but standing a few feet back from me.
"Who are you and why did you kidnap me!" I yelled, scared as I pulled at the chain on my ankle.
"Your only going to hurt yourself little one." He gave a small chuckle as he walked over with a key and unlocked the chain on my ankle. Stupid move, I thought in my head.
Before I could give him a chance to react to unlocking the chair, I pushed him roughly to the floor, then took off out the room, I didn't know where I was going. What I did know was I wanted out of there and I wanted to get back to Marcus. As I was running down the long hall, I could hear talking as I moved to peak from behind the wall down to whatever was below.
I spotted two other men and a woman. They were chuckling at something before the younger looking male bit into the female who screamed at first, then moaned out in pain, but it looked like she liked it.
"You shouldn't be so mean." The voice from before whispered into my ear.
I turned around quickly as I backed away from him. He had a scary smile on his lips.
"Calm down, I said I wouldn't hurt you? I don't break my promises."
"Sebastian! Stop teasing her and take her to Victor already as he waited long enough for her to wake!" The irrited male from downstairs yelled out.
The blonde boy huffed before grabbing my arm roughly and dragging me down the hall. All the way to the end of the wall was a black door with a weird hint of red to it. I swallowed harshly as I was scared of what was behind that door.
As he knocked before, he entered and shoved me inside.
"She woke up." Was all he said before turning and leaving me inside the room.
The fireplace was lit and the candles lit up the room. It was fancy with many books inside. Paintings and sculptures that looked ancient.
"Sorry for them dragging you all the way here as well. I couldn't really approach you." He said before slowly turning his chair to look at me. I was confused who he was and why he acted so nice to me.
His long black hair tied into a messy bun as he wore a v-neck shirt with buttons, he was pale and his eyes were red.
"Why am I here?" I asked, getting annoyed.
"You don't recognize me?" He asked, standing up and moving to the front of his desk as he sat there looking at me.
"Of course I don't, should I?" I huffed out, crossing my arms.
He gave a smile, staring at me. "You haven't changed much, but I'm not shocked you don't remember who I am. We were friends as kids. I was your neighbor before you moved here. I was kidnapped and pronounced dead." He explained to me, watching my reaction.
"Is this some kind of joke? I don't even remember you.. or a childhood friend. You've mistaken me for someone else."
I huffed out, annoyed at him.
"You're not going to. Your parents made sure you forgot about me. You had a rough time getting over my death and it wasn't something a kid should go through." He explained, staring at my eyes.
"Your lying, There is no way they would take away that memory from me and I wouldn't know.. Besides, if you are..Why are you approaching me now? Did you take my family!" I yelled at him.
"Calm down, like I said. You were just a child and it broke you. We were best friends and I ended up dying. You didnt take it well. They did what they thought was best for you..Regardless, if you will remember down the line. As for your family, I had nothing to do with that. After I heard about it, I had my men find you so I could keep you safe from them." He told me with his arms crossed.
I shook my head, getting frustrated with the whole thing. "If you didn't take them, then who did? They had red eyes.. You're a vampire and the person who took them also had red eyes."
He stood at his desk as the door opened, revealing the same boy as before having a tray of food.
"You must be hungry, sit, so we can talk more." He gestured to me.
"I'm not hungry, I want answers." I demanded, but my stomach didn't agree as it growled loudly, making me blush from embarrassment.
He chuckled, shaking his head as he offered me the chair, and I sighed and just sat down, not arguing anymore.
"Fine, but I still want answers" I told him stubbornly.
He nodded his head, taking the tray from the boy as he left again. He handed me the tray, setting it on the table and opening the lid. It was a cheeseburger and fries. Of course, there were french fries but there was also fruit and it was my favorite, Cotton Candy grapes! How did he know they were my favorite thing ever?
"You know my favorite fruit, which is hard to buy anywhere, I guess..Do I really know you? I asked, staring at him.
He smiled, sitting back behind his desk as he nodded his head. "Your parents erased your memories of me. You looked really happy living your life, so I couldn't come back into it. So I decided to stay away and watch you grow up. I died at a young age but was reborn as my maker made me. I grew to about eighteen, then stopped growing. Yet you kept growing."
I was quietly eating some of the French fries as he spoke. When he spoke of my parents erasing my memory of him, it kind of got me upset thinking they would do such a thing..But maybe they thought they were doing the right thing like my parents. But did my brother know about this? If he did , why didn't he tell me about such things?
"My brother never told me a thing about you.. This is so frustrating. But i need to focus on finding my family." I said, staring at him, then at the grapes as I ate some.
"Your family was taken by Vampires, yes, but not all of us are the same. The vampires that took him are rougue's and work for hunters. Which isn't good, us vampires are trying to get rid of the rogues as they kill anything they can get their hands on. My people, we only eat from animals or blood banks..But the blood is supplied to us." He explained to me.
I made a disgusted face as it made him laugh and shake his head.
"You don't see me making faces at your love for sweets."
"Because it's not weird? It's normal." I explained with some attitude but sighed, trying to be nice like he was.
"It's fine, Trust me. I don't like doing what I must to survive..But I won't harm humans. It's not in my nature." He told me with a gentle smile as he offered me a napkin. I took it and touched his hand, which was cold. But what worried me was the weird images I was seeing. It was me, well younger me, but with a boy..Though I couldn't see his face, I could tell he was close to me, but I couldnt tell why he looked sad when my parents came over yelling at me for being around him. Then images of pain, sorrow and blood.
I pulled my hand away from him panting as he looked worried, staring at me, confused.
"Mirabela? What's wrong.." He whispered, moving to my side as he kneeled down beside me.
"I-I don't know.. I saw myself little and... I don't understand.." I whispered, tearing up as I was confused, but also the emotions from seeing what I did pained me.
"It's okay, Breathe.." He whispered.
The door busted open, making me jump and his sigh as he stood up.
"This better be important, that your busting down the door." He snapped at the blonde boy.
He bowed, apologizing, before standing up straight looking worried.
"Sir, I'm sorry for not knocking and bursting inside the room. But we have an issue. Lycans busted down our gates and are coming inside our home!" He yelled.
My heart fluttered as I smiled, knowing exactly who it was. "Marcus."
Victor looked pissed off hearing someone was invading his home, but I think he was also mad that I was happy he had come and found me. "I'll deal with it." He moved to me, grabbing my arm roughly as I winced. So much for him being nice, huh?
He dragged me out of the office and down the hall as you could hear people screaming as the doors were busted open. I could hear loads of growling. As he dragged me to the stairs, I saw him.. He looked pissed and had dark red eyes as well, but his were more darkened than a Vampire's.
"Well, well, welcome to my home!" Victor shouted as the vampires got quiet and he dragged me down the stairs with him.
When Marcus saw me he seemed to relax a bit but was still on edge as Victor had me roughly by the arm.
"Let her go blood sucker." He growled out.
"You're in my home, so you will and shall respect me or I can snap her neck while you watch." He threatened as I looked at him as if he was crazy, This asshole was so bi-polar!
"Marcus.." I whispered, scared as his eyes were on me.
He sighed seeing me scared and raised his hand, calling off his pack as they stood still and by his side.
"Don't hurt her.. What do you want.." He said, annoyed.
"You've met her for what six days and your already in love with her? How can a monster like you know what love is!" He screamed at Marcus.
He was quiet before his eyes came on me. "Because she is my mate, My destiny and I'll be dammed if you call me a monster. You kidnapped her family! I found Florian, who is badly beaten and hasn't woken yet.."
My heart fluttered at the words leaving his lips. I was his destiny but, more importantly, his mate. I heard being someone's mate was a big deal..He was King of the Lycans and I was his future bride. Is this why I felt so weird towards him? I gave a weak smile before hearing he had found my brother.
"Is he okay!" I asked.
Marcus nodded his head. "Carley is looking after him, same as James. He is fine." He assured me.
Victor's grip tightened on my arm as I winced and that only set Marcus off as he ran forward. Victor pushed me to the ground as both boys were tackled to the ground fighting one another.
I winced when I hit my head against the floor. I watched the two fight and no one dared to get involved. Nathaniel ran over to me and helped me up.
"We should get you out of here." He whispered to me.
"I'm not leaving without Marcus.." I said back, holding my ground.
He sighed but just nodded as we watched the two fight. Victor flung Marcus off him, which triggered him. Marcus was panting and before I knew it , his bones were cracking in every place as fur roamed his body. His skin falling off his body. He grew like several feet as I watched, scared seeing this side of him. He stood on two legs, but wasn't human.
He was in his true form. A Lycan.
