Chapter One: Mírabelá Lee Leoná.
When you are born into the Fae world like I am, everything isn’t so easy peasy. We have challenges and we even have many deaths. The supernatural creatures think of the Fae community as a lost cause..we hold magic, beauty and some power within us.
But it still didn’t raise our rank within the supernatural , but also the humans, as we were getting killed on the spot for being different than them. We were going extinct and there was nothing to help save us.
Until one day my Father had the bright idea of marrying his Babygirl off to the Lycan King.
Did I mention that I was his Babygirl?
I didn’t have a say in my own life and how I wanted to live it. I was doing what was right for my family but also my people. I was to marry the most hated and scariest supernatural creature..and for what?
My eyes stared out my window and down at the driveway as my Father was out there with my mother speaking to someone in a very dark black truck. A total of four black cars were in our driveway but also the road as it was impossible to see who was inside if they didn’t roll down the window.
My emerald eyes searched for any hints of what the person looked like behind the wheel, but with no luck, I huffed heavily shutting the curtain and sat back at my desk.
A few moments later, I could hear the door downstairs open and there was a lot of talking. My mother and father were arguing with one another. I slid on my slippers and made my way out of my room to see my brother standing there with his arms crossed. He had a sorrowful but sour look on his face as he listened to the bickering down below. I tip toed over to him and stood at the door of his room while we listened to the arguing from downstairs.
“You can’t really be thinking of marrying our baby to that monster of a man!” My mother yelled angrily at my father.
“I don’t really have a choice. Who else would be willing to gain our numbers? We are dying out my love and this is our last option as the wolves haven’t responded to our letter. The Lycans were the first as the King needed a bride..a heir.”
I heard enough as I moved to the railing.
“And you just so happen to sell me off to a horny dog! I will do no such thing and marry him just so he can get his d**k wet!”
My father looked pissed as he just sighed and walked off without commenting on my outburst. My mother was staring at me as she walked off as well, without telling me to shut up or not put my input in.
“You do realize they are doing this because we have to..we are the only Fae’s left and this means sadly you need to do this for us..As your older brother, I know your pissed and I blame myself for not finding a woman to marry. I cannot help my love for men, so of course, father will go to you, which is the next best.”
He sighed heavily, hugging me as he rubbed my back.
“It’s not fair..I don’t want to marry.” I whispered gently into his chest as tears fell from my cheeks.
“I know, but don’t worry. Maybe he will get one look at you and see how much of a pain you are to take care of.”
He joked with a smirk, trying to lighten up the mood.
I laughed and smacked his chest, pulling away as I wiped my eyes dry.
“I am not. I’m just a little emotional here and there, but that’s about it.”
He laughed, shaking his head as he ruffled my hair.
“I’ll speak to them, see what’s going on. Until I go to your room, stay there .. you know how he can be.” He said, smiling before walking down the stairs to the kitchen area of the house.
I did what he said and moved to my room, closing the door behind me. As I moved to my bed, sitting down sighing, my eyes moved to the photo of my family.
We were so happy before all this went down. My father kept us safe from humans and other horrible people.
He was my number one hero and now he is shipping me off to marry. I didn’t think I could really be mad at him as he was just trying to keep our family line going and wanted nothing more than that. I knew he cared for my well-being and my happiness, but he had to do what was best for us Fae.
I laid down on my bed, the pillow soft against my cheek as I could hear the muffled arguing through the vents. I frowned, knowing my brother was just trying to help the situation as he felt guilty, but at the same time, it wasn’t his fault he was more into men than women and my father hated that about him. But I loved him, so doing this, so he didn’t have to marry a woman and fake being happy was worth it to me.
As I was deep in thought, I couldn’t help but fall asleep thinking of my future and what was to come for me soon. Soon I would be a wife to a Lycan King.

As I woke a couple hours later, my mother was moving hair from my face as she smiled down at me before kneeling.
“Seems you fell asleep, I’m sorry about all of that earlier..you shouldn’t have to hear us fighting over that.”
I sighed, sitting up and moving my platinum blonde hair behind my ear as I looked down at her.
“Arguing..I get it mother, you don’t wanna see me grow up, but I also get why he is doing it.. we’re dying out and he wants me to live on and grow our family name and this is the only way, sadly.” I mumbled the last part mostly to myself.
She stood and sat down beside me on the bed as she took my hand in hers.
“If it makes you feel better..We didn’t even get to meet him. Apparently he sent over his goons to prepare a meet up, dinner I suppose they talked about.”
“Can’t even come himself to meet my parents.. how typical of a male.” I rolled my eyes at the thought of him having no balls to show up and greet them.
“Don’t be so mean. He is a busy man..A king after all, my dear.” She says, poking my cheek.
“Mother, he is King of Lycans..he has no title to us or anyone else but his people, so for him to call him self himself makes him look stupid..” I huffed, rolling my eyes.
My Mother meant well and I knew she felt the same way I did about this whole crazy situation. But we didn't have any other option. This was our best one and she didn't dare to argue with my Father about it anymore, as she didn't like the drama or fighting with our family. It was bad enough. There was a huge fight between our family when they found out about my brother liking men. My father couldn't accept it and wouldn't. It took some time for him to finally let go of his pride and accept his son.
We were finally getting back to what we were before all of this craziness happened, or should I say before, me and my brother weren't children anymore. But then my father had received news of another Fae being murdered by some hunters and that set him over the edge to finding me a man to marry.
"I promise, no harm will come to you and I will do my best when we go to that dinner to see if he is the right man for you. I wouldn't dare wed my beautiful daughter to such an ugly, sour man." She smirked, tickling my sides as I laughed and swatted at her hands.
"I know you won't, but it still doesn't help that I'm scared of being away from home. I won't be here anymore to protect you and father." I whispered as deep down I knew I was of age and couldn't live with them forever even if it was safe.
She smiled, rubbing my hand as she kissed the side of my head.
"You are not a child anymore and your father and I don't need your protection. You need to worry about your happiness and your future life away from these walls you love so much." She teased before standing up.
I rolled my eyes, smirking, because I loved being inside my room and not socializing with others. It was my safe place. I could sit on my bed all day and read books or write on my laptop for hours till I felt sleepy.
"Now get some rest as tomorrow will be an interesting one. We will meet with them for supper. Bathe so you done stink." She chuckles, leaving my room as she shut the door behind her, leaving me there.
I stood with a loud groan escaping my lips as I moved to the bathroom and stripped down nakedly, throwing my clothes in the hamper before turning on the tub to let it fill with hot water. I added some scented bubbles and added a candle to calm my nerves, as I had many.
When the tub filled, I got in and sighed as the warm water hit my skin, making me sink in as I relaxed and went back to my thoughts in my head.
"Tomorrow I will be meeting my fiance. How annoying."
