As I awoke, I noticed the bed was empty but a single rose had been lying on the pillow where his head once slept. I gave a smile, staring at the roses before picking it up and smelling them. A single note was attached.
“Had an early meeting, I’ll be down in the kitchen making us some breakfast when you wake up.” The note read.
I gave a smile as I moved to place my feet on the cool floor. There was also another sun dress on the bedside table for me as well. I guess he got one of his sister's dresses for me. There was also a comb, so I combed out my long hair before sliding on the slippers left for me and made my way out the room nervously.
It was about eight in the morning and the house seemed quiet, which I guess was normal.
I stopped in the hallway where I spotted a girl. Her jet black long hair down her back. Her bright blue eyes staring at me, she gave me a gentle smile as she walked over, taking my hand and dragging me inside a room which I guess was hers.
"You must be the Fae everyone speaks of. They went hunting for their meals and will be back soon. I stay behind and I'm glad to, as I have got to meet you first, I'm Layla, Marcus sister."
"My goodness you're even prettier than he explained when talking about you. I wanted to meet you when he told me about you. You are so strong. Its amazing." I said, smiling as she let go of my hand before she sighed shrugging.
"Strong? I wouldn't say that. I do what I have to for my brother's sake. He needs me as I need him. I was worried to hear he was going to get married because I don't want you coming between us.." She said honestly, then gasped feeling she said something wrong.
I shook my head, taking her hands. "Your brother loves you dearly and will do anything for you. I'm not here to steal anyone from anyone. I'm simply here to learn about your people and family and maybe just maybe join it.."I said mumbling the last part, though she seemed to giggle.
"Well, that is good news then. You have my blessing to marry my brother." She winked at me as we laughed. "Come, we shall eat together while they're away."
She smiled and drug me out her room and down the hall to the stairs. She was correct. Everyone seemed not here as the house was very empty. We moved to the large kitchen area as she smiled before moving to grab a bowl for herself.
"I usually like cereal for breakfast, so I have them stock up on it. Eat anything you like." She told me casually as she grabbed fruit loops, pouring it inside her bowl, then found the milk.
"I'll have some cereal too then." I smiled at her, grabbing myself a bowl as she poured some cereal inside the bowl for me. I didn't wanna just go through their fridge, I was a guest and not used to such things yet.
My eyes roamed around the white/tan kitchen as it was clean as well and not a single thing was misplaced or looked out of place.
"You seem nervous being here, but don't worry. No one dares to disobey or pick on me. My brother is scary but a teddy bear, so it's a bonus being his sister." She chuckles, smiling at me, handing me a spoon to eat.
I nodded my head and took the spoon as we sat down at the dining table in the kitchen, which seemed like her little area as there were only three chairs inside. "I'm not scared. Just don't know how his friends would react to meeting me or his clan. I'm not like them.. Plus, my kind has been hunted for years. I don't wanna bring that drama to such a loving family."
The door swung open as a girl walked in butt ass naked before sliding a shirt over her head. Her red hair stood out but also her perfect brown eyes. She glared at me. "Good because no one wants to babysit another loser. Bad enough we have to deal with that half bred." She rolled her eyes, grabbing some water from the fridge.
So much for no one picking on her. I thought to myself, Was she getting bullied but didn't tell her brother?
"Shut up Sarah, No one cares for your input." She huffed at her eating her cereal.
"Calm down, Don't wanna over work yourself." She teased smirking at her.
I'd heard enough as I stood up, getting in her face. She looked at me smirking, seeing I was scared of her one bit.
"Leave her alone." I warned with a dark glare.
"Oooh, you must be the pretty little Fae everyone is talking about. . News flash honey,.. Us Lycans don't like change and you, Well, you THAT change. So instead of wasting everyone's time, you should just leave." She smiled before her nail poked my forehead.
I slapped her hand away from my face as I was now pissed at how this girl was acting and treating Layla. Before I could speak, the backdoor opened once again as some males came inside, followed by Marcus. He looked worried as he walked over to us.
"What is going on?" He asked, looking at us both confused.
"Ask her, She is the one in my face." Sarah huffed, crossing her arms as she played the innocent card.
"Don't play the innocent card. You were picking on Layla and, from the looks of it, you always do and maybe more people. Then you think you can scare me away by telling me no one likes me, News Flash Honey." I shot back at her with her words. "I'm not here for anyone to like me or will I change for anyone, but what I'm not gonna do is let you bully this girl because your insecure about your shitty life that makes you a shitty person." I snapped at her.
"What do you say b***h?" She yelled, moving towards me, but Marcus stopped her.
"Enough Sarah." He warned.
She gave a laugh, shaking her head as she turned away, grabbing her water bottle.
"Wanna know something Princess, Everything was perfect till you showed up. Now the clan is pissed and I probably wont be getting any more action, Right Marcus." She says, turning her head to look at him and he refused to even catch her eyes.
You have gotta be kidding me. The man I am supposed to marry and spend a life with is sleeping with this wench. I really couldn't get mad because this was before I was in the picture. I shook my head laughing as I turned to Layla.
"Lets go hangout in your room where it's quiet. I don't wanna catch anything from her just by standing in the same kitchen as her." I huffed, walking off as Layla followed after me giggling.
I left her standing in the kitchen yelling loudly and other voices speaking loudly. I did not care as I just wanted out the room and out of being the center of attention.
We walked back to her room and closed the door as I sat on her bed sighing.
"That was awesome. You stood up to her.. No one did well because.. She was messing with my brother at the time." She admitted the truth to me but laughed.
"I don't like people bullying others. I had to deal with that crap all the time with my brother. He is gay, so I had to be the rock to protect him. People like her shouldn't even exist." I sighed, shaking my head.
"I hope this doesn't change your mind about staying here. My brother stopped messing with her the day he received the letter from your father. I swear on that. He was probably really pissed off when she said that." She said, frowning, as she took my hand.
I looked at her, unsure how I felt. I mean, I just met him and already my heart hurt finding out he was sleeping with such a girl, but then again, that was before I ever met him. So I couldn't get upset about it. I smiled at her, shaking my head.
"Like you said, it was before he met me and if what you say is true. Then I shouldn't be upset as so.. Though things will have to change with that b***h being around me and him, and of course, her bullying you. So I'll have to set some rules tonight when I speak with him in the room."
She giggles smiling.
"I like you and I would love you as a sister!" She squeals.
I laughed, smiling and nodding my head, as I was happy to at least make one friend so far in the clan. Though now I probably had a target on my back as well from Sarah. I feel she will do everything in her power to get me out of here.
