On the night of her eighteenth birthday, Kaya Ashclaw walks into the Moon Ceremony with one fragile hope – that the Moon Goddess will finally grant her a mate who could end her years of humiliation as the outcast of the Ashfang Pack. But fate is cruel. The bond ties her to Xavier Frostfang, the ruthless Alpha who has hated her since childhood, and instead of claiming her, he rejects her before the entire pack.

As if heartbreak weren’t enough, Xavier turns to Kaya’s best friend –the girl she trusted like a sister –and crowns her as his Luna. Betrayed and broken, Kaya flees the only home she has ever known.

But beyond the borders, destiny isn’t done with her. She falls into the hands of Kael Wolfe, the infamous rogue Alpha feared across all packs. In his presence, her wolf awakens with terrifying, glorious power, and a prophecy emerges — she is the White Wolf, fated to either unite the divided packs or burn them all to ash.

Now hunted by those who once shunned her, torn between the Alpha who rejected her and the rogue who would claim her, Kaya must decide whether to bow to destiny or rewrite it. For the Moon Goddess has given her power… but love, betrayal, and vengeance will determine how she uses it.

Will she be their salvation…or their ruin?

“He rejected me. She betrayed me. But the world will remember me.”

The Cursed Mate
“I am not cursed!” Kaya screamed, her voice cracking as the words bounced off the stone walls of the pack’s training yard. Her fists shook at her sides, nails digging into her palms until her skin stung, her stormy-gray eyes brimming with tears, but the girls circling her only laughed. “Not cursed?” Ivy’s laughter cut through the dusk like a blade. With her perfect silky hair gleaming in the fading light and her smug smile, she looked every inch the Alpha’s daughter, untouchable and cruel. “Your parents betrayed the pack, and you think that stain doesn’t cling to you? Everyone knows you’ll amount to nothing, Kaya.” Clara chimed in, smirking. “Who would ever want a mate like you?” Laughter echoed sharp and cruel. Kaya’s throat tightened. She wanted to yell back, to bare her teeth, to rip that smirk right off their faces. But even as her wolf growled inside her, power humming just beneath her skin, fear tightened its grip. If she lashed out, the elders would say she was dangerous. Just like her parents. So, instead, Kaya lifted her chin, blinking away the tears that burned in her eyes.“The Moon Goddess will prove you wrong,” she whispered, though her voice trembled. “Tomorrow night, at the moon ceremony, she’ll give me a mate. Someone who sees me—not the lies you believe.” For a heartbeat, silence fell. Then Ivy laughed harder, tossing her hair. “Oh, please. Who would the Goddess ever curse with you? A rogue? Or maybe a cripple?” Laughter exploded. Kaya’s wolf snarled inside her, thrashing violently, desperate to claw its way free. Heat surged beneath her skin, the air humming faintly around her. For one terrifying second, her vision blurred into white and the surrounding air seemed to shift. The ground beneath her feet quivered as though the earth itself felt her anger. The giggling paused as gasps erupted. One boy stumbled back in alarm. Elder Rowan, who had been silently observing from the edge of the yard, leaned forward and narrowed his amber eyes. Something flickered across his weathered face—fear, or was it awe? And then it was gone as quickly as it came. The strange surge vanished, Kaya's body sagged, her wolf retreating, leaving Kaya trembling and breathless in confusion. “See?” Ivy pointed at her, seizing the moment. “She’s dangerous. Just like her parents.” The circle dissolved in mutters, whispers and wary glances. They backed away, scattering like startled birds, none daring to come too close. Only Elder Rowan lingered, his face lined unreadable and his eyes piercing as they locked on Kaya. Her chest heaved, shame and confusion tangling inside her. What was that? Kaya hugged her arms around herself, fighting the sting of humiliation. “Don’t listen to them.” Lena’s voice pulled her back. She pushed past the others and grabbed Kaya’s hand, squeezing it tight. Her emerald eyes shone with warmth and loyalty. “Tomorrow, everything will change. You’ll see. The Moon Goddess won’t abandon you.” Kaya wanted to believe her. She needed to. She clung to her friend’s words like a lifeline. “Tomorrow,” she murmured, forcing herself to nod. She prayed silently, desperately: Please. Let tomorrow save me. Later that night, she stood before her uncle. Malrick loomed behind his desk, his face carved from stone. “You’ll not embarrass me at the ceremony tomorrow,” he said, voice cold as winter. “The pack already questions why I kept you alive. Do not give them more reason.” The words pierced deeper than any blade. The man who had raised her after her parents’ deaths never treated her as family—only as a duty, a stain he could not wash away. Kaya swallowed the lump in her throat. She wanted to scream at him, to beg him to see her as his niece instead of a stain. But she only nodded. “Yes, Uncle.” When she left his office, she barely made it outside before her knees buckled. The night sky stretched endlessly above her, stars glittering like distant promises. She clutched her chest. “Please, Moon Goddess,” she whispered to the heavens. “Let me belong tomorrow. Let me matter.” The Moon Ceremony dawned bright and heavy with anticipation. The pack gathered in the clearing, torches blazing, the taste of copper and the moon’s chill on the skin. Wolves whispered eagerly about fated mates, alliances, futures sealed in divine choice. Kaya stood at the edge, heart pounding against her ribs. Lena was at her side, radiant in a silver dress, squeezing her hand. “You’ll find him,” Lena whispered. “I know it.” But Ivy’s mocking smile from across the circle made Kaya’s stomach twist. Elder Rowan began the ritual, chanting as the moonlight bathed the gathering. One by one, the pack youths stepped forward, their mates revealed by the Goddess’s bond, sparks igniting between chosen pairs. Cheers erupted, laughter and joy ringing into the night. Then it was Kaya’s turn. Her feet felt like lead as she stepped into the circle. The moonlight bathed her, and for one wild heartbeat, hope surged. She felt it—the pull, the electric spark coursing through her veins. Her wolf howled in recognition. Her gaze snapped toward him. Xavier. The Alpha of the Ashfang pack. Tall, broad-shouldered, with eyes like piercing blue fire. Her heart stopped. Him. The Goddess chose him. For one fragile moment, joy overwhelmed everything else. Her mate. Her salvation. But then Xavier’s face hardened. His lips curled in disgust. “No.” His voice rang out across the clearing. “I refuse her.” For a breath, his jaw trembled ,a fault line of something like regret masked by a mask of command , then he hardened his face and said it again. The word sliced through her like a blade. People gasped. Kaya staggered back as though struck. “W-what?” Her voice broke, shaking. Xavier stepped closer, his words cruel and cutting. “I reject her. I will not be tied to a traitor’s blood. I’d rather reject the Goddess’s will than bind myself to her.” The crowd exploded in whispers: Cursed. Dangerous. Worthless. Ivy’s eyes gleamed with wicked delight. The bond cracked inside her chest, ripping her open. Her knees buckled as the crowd whispered. Her chest constricted as if the rejection itself was a blade carving into her soul. The bond that had sparked moments ago shattered violently, leaving a hollow ache that stole her breath. “No…” The word left her lips in a broken whisper.“You can’t…” But Xavier had already turned. Towards Lena. Kaya’s vision blurred with disbelief. Lena–her best friend–stood frozen in the moonlight, emerald eyes wide, lips trembling. Xavier extended his hand, his voice ringing with command. “She will be my Luna. Strong, pure, worthy.” The crowd exploded—some gasping, some cheering. The pack shifted instantly, bending toward their Alpha’s will. Kaya stared as Lena’s hesitation flickered—then vanished. Slowly, Lena’s fingers hesitated at the space between them — a flash of something unreadable — then she let her hand slip into his. The circle roared, and Lena smiled like a girl who had finally learned how to hide the ache. The moonlight dimmed above Kaya, clouds swallowing the glow. The Goddess Herself seemed to turn away. And for the first time in her life, Kaya wondered if Ivy had been right all along. Pain ripped through Kaya’s soul, rejection and betrayal entwining like poisoned thorns. Maybe she really was cursed. Beneath the grief, something colder and fiercer stirred— not despair, but a whisper of power. Not silence, but a promise: fire waiting to burn. A storm gathering in her bones.
