His eyes were dark and unreadable, making my chest tighten painfully. “I… I was going to tell you,” I started, but his bitter laugh cut me off mid-sentence. “Don’t lie to me,” he snapped, stepping closer. “You never intended to tell us, did you?” “I didn’t want to tell you because… because it would ruin everything!
