Chapter Thirteen: Truth RevealedThey both turn to look at the precious young creature padding up from the back of the house. She looks absolutely wrecked, her hair in disarray, her lips kiss-swollen red. Even the massive coat she's thrown over her shoulders is not enough to hide the heady scent of arousal coming from her. Oliver turns to her to Jasper in suspicion. There is a stark absence of fear and nervousness there. It is clear to even him that Jasper is no stranger to his young ward.
His shackles rise and he bares his teeth at Jasper, who is careful to keep his expression calm so that he doesn't give anything away. It is good to see her again and he can't help himself from taking in her scent greedily. She smells wet and heady. She frowns at them.
"Good evening, Modesty."
