Chapter1
Savannah Pov It's 5 am; I stretch my arms and yawn. Finally, today is the start of the summer holidays. I've been studying History at Manchester University. It's my 2nd year. I'm going into my 3rd year. I'm hoping to become a teacher and specialize in History. Today I am going on holiday to Perranporth in Cornwall for six weeks! No drama or essays or anything for six weeks. After my shower, I head downstairs to find my Dad packing the car. My mum is in the kitchen doing the last-minute cleaning and making breakfast sandwiches. If you look at both my parents, you would never have guessed in a million years that, less than 8 weeks ago, my Dad won the national lottery £150 million! Both my parents are hardworking. My Dad works in a factory making plastic for car panels and my Mum works at the local hospital as a nurse. Both my parents are now retired. And I don't blame them. My mum looks up, her careworn green eyes sparkle as she smiles at me. I'm like my mum in many ways. We are both determined and stubborn, we both have hour glass figures — for which I love mine. I have her dark thick curly hair. But the difference is, I've inherited my Dad's bright blue eyes. "You girls all ready for our adventure to Perranporth?" Dad rubs his hands together and smiles. Mum and I giggle. He had the same reaction when he won the lottery. He smiled and rubbed his hand together and my mum screamed like a banshee. Me, I don't think it has fully set in yet. I mean I'm still reeling that I am now a full-time student without any debt! "Sure Dad. Let's get going." I have to admit I'm just as excited. We are staying in a caravan that mum bought with our winnings. It was the first thing she did. She has always wanted a holiday home and now she has one. The only thing I would say has changed since the lottery win is that Mum and Dad both seemed more relaxed. Dad, of course, bought himself a brand-new Audi Q6. It's his pride and joy. It's 6am by the time we leave the house. We have a long journey ahead of us. I have recently passed my test. Dad has promised me a new car when we get back from Cornwall. I wonder if he will ever trust me enough to drive his new pride and joy. I smile to myself and I already know the answer. Hell No!. We hit the M5 at 7am. I think we are making good time. Dad seems to think so. Mum is just looking out at the scenery. Mum likes the M5. There is a certain part where the southbound carriage follows the pattern of the hill and if you look back you can see the estuary of Bristol. Obviously, if you are the one driving you can't Ha! I forgot to mention that it's my 21st birthday in three weeks. I'm going to be celebrating my milestone birthday in my favorite place. We stop just outside of Bristol; Dad's complaining that his foot has gone numb. I have to laugh because he always complains after a long journey, but he insists on driving everywhere. We head inside the services to go to the restroom and grab a coffee. Despite the lottery win, both my mum and Dad still refuse to pay service stain prices for food. I laugh at the thought. After coffee, Dad directs us back to the car. He smiles at me, then throws me the keys! "Dad? Are you serious?" I jump up and down on the spot beyond giddy. "Yes, and before you ask, you are fully insured and ready to go." Dad laughs as I excitedly unlock the car and practically bounce into the driver's seat. The seat is plush and soft. Dad has it set to his height. I'm a little shorter than my Dad. Well, a lot shorter. He stands at 6ft, and I stand at 5ft. I press the ignition button, and she roars into life. Dad really has gone all out. All mod cons. Leather seats Power steering. Its a manual. So I shift her into reverse and gently ease out of the parking spot. Dad checks out both sides like an eagle. I drive round to the exit. Check my mirrors and drive on to the freeway with great ease. I'm full of excitement as this is my first time driving on the freeway. We reach the end of the M5. There are two roads; one leads into Devon. The other road, which has a great big corner, leads to Cornwall. I signal left to come off the freeway and smoothly take the corner on to the A30. I briefly look over at Dad, who seems impressed that I took the corner so smoothly. My Mum congratulates me. It takes just under five hours, but finally I see the flags that signal the entrance. I pull in slowly. I see the familiar sand dunes. The camping side looks full. It's a beautiful sunny day. I sigh and relax six weeks here. I pull into a car parking space and turn the engine off. I look at Dad, who just looks at me with pure pride in his eyes. "You did so well, Savannah. I'm truly amazed". "Thank you for trusting me." I smile. Mum gets out of the car first, it's warm and sunny. I love the feeling of the sun on my arms. We walk around to reception. Mum is handed the keys. The receptionist gives us a pack explaining all the benefits of being an owner, like the owners only swim and priority acces to the gym and spa. Mum smiles. Dad drives around to the caravan. Mum has chosen a spot that is near the cliffs and not far from the entertainment complex restaurant and shops. The caravan is 8ft long. It has a veranda with outdoor seating. Mum unlocks the door. Inside there is a huge open living kitchen and dining area. It's been decorated in neutral colors. The kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, gas cooker. There is a bathroom with a shower and toilet. The master bedroom has an en-siute toilet. I choose my bedroom. I push the single beds together to make one big bed. I unpack my stuff, change into a light summer dress and sit on the veranda and soak up the afternoon sun. Ben Pov. It's almost 1pm. Soon I'll be on my way to Cornwall. Perranporth to be exact. My Mum and Dad own a holiday home on Perransands. We go every year. Me, Mum, Dad. My twin baby sisters Amanda and Natasha. And in recent years, Dean and David are the girls' boyfriends and my best friends. I did find it odd two brothers and two sisters. They both started working at my parents' firm a few years ago and have worked their way up. I have to say I was impressed by both their need to succeed. I just finish warping up my work when David bursts into my office. "Dude, it's 1 pm we have got to go or Amanda will have my guts for garters if we are late." I laugh as I closely computer down. "Well, we can't have Amanda being mad at you, can we?" I smirk, knowing full well that even if it is my fault, he'll get the blame because I'm her big brother and Amanda loves me. David is the eldest of the two brothers by nine months. Dean is the least serious. He's Natasha's partner. David is the more grown up of the two. They are both similar builds. David has sandy blonde hair and brown eyes. Dean has dark brown hair and brown eyes. Both muscular build. Funily enough, they both enjoy the same music. Rock and heavy meatal. Dean enjoys a good practical joke which, in the past, has landed him in hot water. He once set off the fire alarms. My dad went mad at him. It was only because of Natasha that he wasn't fired. He also set up an air horn on his brother's chair. I still remember the horn going off and David shouting Deans name in contempt. I laugh inwardly as that happened to be the day I was showing round a perspective investor. Luckily, he looked liked he enjoyed a laugh. Dean stands outside my office looking at his phone. Leaning against the wall in his suit, he looks like a model. He smiles his crooked smile and puts his phone away. "Tasha is making sure I've packed everything and that we are on our way." I shake my head. My sisters Natasha and Amanda are both excited, both brunette and both in love. I can't help feeling a pang of jealousy. I want what they have, a loving relationship. I've developed a bit of a bad boy reputation at the firm. I've not slept with anyone at work, but I've flirted with coworkers. I've maybe kissed one or two. I need to find a nice normal girl, just someone pretty. We head out to the car park. Get in my BMW SUV and head out to Perranporth.
