Chapter 2 (Genevieve

1023 Words
Brother, I love you. I say in my mind hoping Charles would hear it, before passing back out. I know I won’t be in my bed when I wake up, maybe no longer in the same realm. ~~~~~~~ “Who are you?” A girl asks, waking me up out of my sleep. I first notice the man in the shadows is no longer watching over me and the rest of the shadow people are gone. I must be in their realm now. I stayed silent. Silently observing the new world around me. “I’ll ask again. Who the f**k are you girl?” The girl asks again. She has golden-brown hair and looked about ready to kill. “Calm down Pepper. She must just be some new student or something. Leave her be.” “She’s in Trisha’s bed.” “Trisha’s dead, leave it be.” A girl with auburn hair stated. “Ignore them.” Another girl stated. This one had lilac hair and silver eyes. “Why don’t you go get dressed, your uniforms should be in that closet, and I’ll show you to the cafeteria to get some breakfast. Then we’ll go get your schedule.” She was kind. So I just smiled and nodded. “Oh, btw my name’s Liliana, but you can call me Lila.” I just nod in understanding only half paying attention. Lila takes me all around campus and I’m in awe. The place is huge. We had just come out of the girls' dorm and it was a single building with five floors. According to Lila, each room holds about three to five students. There was a walkway with a fountain in the center that separated the girls' dorms from the guys' dorms. Behind the dorms was a large spacious garden that Lila said was used to host any sort of party or celebration. Lila said that on the other side of campus is where the teachers stay and they all have their townhouses. Some of the teachers; based on power and ranking in the courts, have larger houses. Students are only allowed over there in emergencies or if a teacher permits them entrance. After walking for a good ten to fifteen minutes we finally reached the main building for classrooms. It has all the core classes they teach here, according to Lila. She said it includes classes such as Ancient History, Ancient Language, Who and What we are, and Magic of our realm. We continue walking along the paved walkway for a moment before we reach the offices. According to Lila, this building has an office for every single teacher, as well as the main office where all the students can go to get their schedules or if they need to see the counselor or if one of the headmasters needs to speak to them. It also had the nurse’s office with a small infirmary inside. On the top floor are the headmasters' offices. We head inside and Lila leads me toward the main office. We’re turning a corner and I run right into someone. “I’m sorry sir! We should have been paying more attention! I was just trying to show my new roommate here, where the office was so we could pick up her schedule!” Lila said in a rush. She wasn’t even the one to run into the guy, so not sure why she’s acting like that. “It’s fine girls. So, you must be the new student I’ve heard so much about.” I look up and see a man who looked like he wasn’t much older than me. He was quite attractive. He has black hair and bright blue eyes. “My name's Kye Garrett and I’m the new teacher of Mystic Arts for beginners and All things Supernatural 101, as well as Swords and Claws battle tactics. I will teach two of each class this year.” “Do you not have any free periods this year Mr. Garrett?” Lila asked. “No, as a new teacher or well a recently returned teacher after an extended leave of absence I don’t get the luxury of having a free period. However, I also will hold occasional study sessions in my office after classes for those who I deem need a little extra practice or study.” “Well, nice to meet you, Mr. Garrett, I’m Lila and my new friend here doesn’t seem to speak much so I’m not sure of her name, but she seems nice enough,” Lila stated. “Well nice to meet you, Lila. If you girls would follow me I can get her schedule for you.” We followed Kye into the main office building. He went around a counter and started shuffling through some filing cabinets. After a couple of minutes, he came back around the counter and handed me a sheet of paper with my schedule on it. “Thank you, Mr. Garrett!” Lila exclaimed, she seemed a lot more relaxed again and not on edge like she did when I first ran into Kye or well Mr. Garrett. Turns out my first class is with Mr. Garrett, Mystic Arts for beginners. So after Lila and I finally make our way to the cafeteria for breakfast we head to another building that has all the special classes as Lila explained. This school is nothing like my old school, that’s for sure. Me being clairvoyant is considered a gift here, though it’s still not super common from what I’ve gathered thus far. Whereas at my old school if people knew about my Clairvoyance they would have thought me insane or looking for attention in the best-case scenario. However, if they thought me insane I would have ended up just like Mama in an insane asylum for the rest of my life. Makes me wonder if Charles would like it here. He’s Clairaudient, after all, maybe they would have a place for him here as well. With that thought in mind, I walk into my first class of the day wondering what other weirdness I might encounter today.
