The Reason

"Is she the reason? Is she the reason why you frowned at the hospital? Did you not want a child with me at all? Why did you do this Bruce? Whatever did I do to you?" I cried, yelling at him.

"Shut up Adele, like you also didn't cheat on me" He yelled back at me. I stared at him, astounded by his words. I found the tears on my face drying up after what I heard him say.

"What do you mean? I never cheated on you! I have been faithful to you all these years, despite everything. Is this way you ask me not to worry about giving you an heir? Were you planning to conceive one with my sister?" I asked him.

"No! Adele. You misunderstood. I can't give you an heir. I can't give your sister either. I'm sterile" He revealed.

I stared at him, confused by what he just said.

"No you aren't. I'm pregnant for you" I said, choking on my tears.

"Your child isn't mine, you cheated on me, Adele. You slept with another and got pregnant" He explained to me.

"No I didn't..I didn't do it. I'm pregnant for you, Alpha Bruce"

"Liar. Adele, you're lying. Did you forget about what happened last month?" Ariel, my sister spoke suddenly from behind him. I turned to her, trying to understand what she meant.

"What do you mean, what happened last month?" I asked her.

"When we went to celebrate your birthday at the club, remember the man you told me you were crushing on? Remember that you spent the night with him?" She revealed it to me.

"What the heck?! Why are you lying, Ariel? I didn't crush on or sleep with anyone at the club that night. Stop lying" I demanded.

"It's true. And I know about it. You slept with someone else, Adele, your pregnancy isn't mine" he said with a straight face.

"W - what are you both saying? Tell me it's a lie Bruce. You aren't sterile. You aren't"

"I'm afraid I am, I'm sorry I didn't tell you" he said slowly.

No wonder, no wonder he was so relaxed when he found that I couldn't get pregnant. He hid it all from me for three years. After the humiliation and the insults I've received. Everything turned out to be his fault in the first place. Why? Why did he do this to me?

"I can't believe this," I said and rushed out of the room.

"My lady," Alex yelled and came after me.

I already transited into my wolf form and rushed out of the penthouse, running wildly into the woods. I was heartbroken and confused. I couldn't tell if what they were saying was true or not. But I was sure of myself, I didn't sleep with anyone else. I tried to ask my wolf if that night I went into heat period, if she didn't control her f*****g self and we slept with another werewolf. She didn't respond, she was equally heartbroken as I was.

In the morning…

I arrived at the packhouse that Morning, hoping that everything that happened last night would turn out to be a dream. Unfortunately, it wasn't. I met my father and stepmother present in the mansion alongside Alpha Bruce's family. They were all present and obviously waiting for me. I realized that they've found out about what happened yesterday and have come to settle everything.

"Good morning, father" I greeted him briefly.

"Adele, is it true what I heard? That you cheated on your husband?" He asked me and I could feel the rage in his voice. My father wasn't proud of me. However, he didn't talk about my husband's infidelity. How he was sleeping with my sister behind my back. I clenched my fists tightly, my fingernails dig deeply into my skin.

"Where is Bruce? I want to see him" I spoke.

"You haven't answered me, Adele. Who is responsible for your Pregnancy?" My father asked angrily.

"I would not answer that question until I see Bruce" I replied.

"The nerves of this witch" Mrs. Anderson, Alpha Bruce's mother and the former Luna yelled and stood up. She was about to hit me on the face when someone suddenly push me and her hand smacked him on his back. It was Bruce, the lying cheat of a husband.

"Let go" I demanded, pushing him off me as he hugged me.

"Adele" he called out my name, glaring at my eyes. I stared at the eyes which were once filled with love, they had a different feeling displaying in them, a feeling of pity and disgust.

Bruce let go of me and I turned towards the members. I stared at my stepmom who maintained her normal mocking grin.

"Are you happy now? You've sent your daughter to ruin my marriage, are you now happy?" I yelled at her.

"Adele, you will not speak to your mother that way" My father yelled, he almost lost control of his wolf and he growled at me.

He was going to attack me, I guessed.

"Father" I called out breathlessly, staring at him in disappointment.

"Ariel is having an affair with my husband" I finally revealed and it felt like I took down a huge load off my chest.

"They're sleeping with each other, I caught them myself…."

"Shut up Adele, you do not know what you're talking about. How dare you accuse your husband and sister? They have been supporting you and covering up your secret of infidelity." He explained bitterly.

"Father I'm not lying…"

Pow!

A resounding slap hit me on my face, my father hit me. I couldn't say a word, all I could do was to turn to Bruce, wanting to see his reaction. It turned out that he was enjoying it.

"How dare you accuse an Alpha? Do you want to get us in trouble? Don't you know that Alpha Bruce is the only backbone we have? Do you want to get us killed?" My father scolded me in front of everyone.

I tried not to cry, I tried to control the tears urging out of my face and I did. I didn't want to show them how weak I am or let them mock me. Meanwhile, my chest was pounding fastly due to the heartbreak that I couldn't stand. I loved Bruce, how could he do this to me?

"I, Alpha Joseph Reyes, Disown you as my daughter, Adele. I regret ever rearing you as my blood, I regret helping you. You've disgraced my brother, you've disgraced my pack" my father suddenly announced in front of everyone. I fell on my knees, pleading with him to reverse his vows. The tears which I've been controlling streamed down my face uncontrollably.
