1. Prologue
Money is the root of all things. It can manipulate life in different contexts. It can be used by evil means or good deeds. And some people couldn't just trust money, because money can change or end a person's life.
"So tell me, why do you like me?" I asked between taking a bite. We were at the Grand Restaurant and from the name itself the food is Grand especially the price.
"You're handsome?" She said unsure. I've been observing her quite a while and she's too conceited in a bad way.
"That's all?" I asked.
"What else? Hmm, let's just say your money. Though it is actually give and take, you'll get me and we will share your profit." She said and smiled at me.
"How sure are you that I will share my profit with you?" I asked trying to measure the situation I am in.
"Well, if I became your wife it's quiet obvious that I will get a share of your wealth," she answered.
"Not really, the decision is still mine." I said.
"Come on, I am too pretty for you to resist. I can be your trophy wife, and you will be my credit card," she said confidently.
I took a deep breath trying to calm myself. This is actually my mother's idea, she keeps on dragging me to different blind dates and I have met different girls in a month and they're all weird and lunatic. And another one, this girl is getting on my nerves. I admit she had the looks, but her personality stink.
"But I'm afraid to tell, I don't have the money," I said.
"What do you mean? I run a background research on you and yes I only got a little information about you but I am sure you came in a rich family," she said. She's honest but also blunt.
"That's their money, while me? I'm just a regular employee in my father's company." I answered.
"Yeah? Still you're their heir since you're their unico ijo," she said.
"Hmm, but I already said that I will refuse all inheritance that I will get from them and instead we will donate it in some charities," I said. Her look shows disdain and stop in the mid-air to eat.
"Are you f*****g kidding me? Are you dumb? How am I supposed to marry you if you don't have the money?" She asked. I laughed sarcastically.
"I still have my monthly salary," I shrugged my shoulder.
"That won't be enough! I have too much necessities and gosh, you're unbelievable. Look, if you want to marry me, really, then get back your words and claim your inheritance once more," she said.
I shook my head. I may have the perfect face and body, but all girls are the same they just love my money but not me.
"Who said I want to marry you?" I asked sarcastically.
"What?" She said, I can sense the irritation in her voice.
"Look, I think we're having a misunderstanding here. I agreed on this date because of my mom, but I never said I would like to marry a girl who's as cheap as you are," I said. She exclaims and looks at me angrily. Her shoulders are moving upside down trying to tempt her anger.
"You're insane," she said.
"And you're a self-conceited cheap b***h, I'll pay for our food. Goodbye." I said and stood up leaving him as she turned red due to embarrassment and irritation.
Indeed I am a gentleman, but a girl like her doesn't deserve a gentle treatment. She's far too conceited about herself, she doesn't even have anything to offer. Beauty? Sure there is, but there's still more than her. If I look only for beauty, I'd rather date a Miss Universe candidate than her, they're more qualified. I really hate girls who only love money. Damn it!
